Ricky was a great guide! His sense of humor gave the information and history provided a nice twist. We didn’t get the return back so that gaves us more freedom to explore at the end of the tour. We were lucky enough to see a couple of dolphins ! Totally recommend it! We we

It was a mostly walking tour with the ferry and tram, we were able to get some really nice views of the city. Ken was a great tour guide and answered all our questions and helped make sure everyone could get back to where they needed to be afterwards
Reviews: Hong Kong: Kowloon Local Markets & Food Culture Walking Tour

I did the tour with Michael, and it was an excellent introduction to Hong Kong. It wasn’t a tour that focused heavily on the markets themselves — which I actually appreciated — but more on the life around them, the culture, and how people interact with these spaces every day. Michael explained things in a really grounded way, from how locals shop to some of the challenges the community faces. I liked that he gave practical tips, like how to approach bartering and which spots were worth returning to later. He also made a real effort to understand what each person in the group was hoping to get out of Hong Kong, and you could see he tailored his suggestions accordingly. That personal touch stood out. Trying small bites like market fruit was a fun way to get a feel for what people here actually eat day to day. Learning some of the history woven into the area added even more context. At the end of the tour, we tried a local dish—it wasn’t really my thing, but the experience felt complete

The day started fine except for one issue another group member had with the tour guide. There were two guides one for English and another for Mandarin. The tour is basically "a hold your finger" take through the various attractions. We were taken from the Metro Station bus stand in a public bus to the first site, the fishing village. We took the small boat for a small spin in the sea, where we could not sight any pink dolphins, but the guide did point out some features along the short cruise. The village is drab. Next we took a public bus to the Big Buddha. The guide pointed out some facts about the features of the tourist place. The temple does offer a set meal at a cost if you choose to eat there. After the meal and a quick view of the Buddha (which was in shadow and very unphotogenic), we took the cable car (good experience) to return to the Metro station, to end the tour. On the whole, this was a very average tour. The male guide should learn to smile a bit more, though. Very Dour!

I was extremely satisfied with this day trip. I took my mother on a local day tour, which was full of foreigners. Our guide was a handsome local man named Martin. He was fluent in English and Mandarin, knowledgeable, kind, and always ready to answer any questions. He was the best tour guide I've ever had in Hong Kong! I highly recommend him.
