Reviews: Waterfalls Adventure From Jaco
K***42024-02-29
A completely fabulous tour. First being picked up in a great van with air conditioning, the tour guide was amazing, knowledgeable and very courteous. I missed somewhere that they were going to feed us, that was great because my teen was hungry. The food was delicious. From there a ride on a truck that takes you up into the rain forest. Our guide Lomar was a superstar. Knew everything about every plant and animal and pointed it out to us. When we arrived to the unloading spot, he offered us walking sticks and from there we started our descent towards the waterfall pools. They are breathtaking. Swimming in them is a joy and the guides are fantastic at taking pictures with out phones and keeping them dry and safe. They are so strong and will help you navigate all the rocks and the trail.
I discovered thanks to my guide flora and fauna I had never seen before and while swimming in one of the pools, it started raining a little. The rainforest. An amazing day that ended with watermelon and pineapple and complete joy. I would just add to bring a towel for when you are done with the whole thing so you don’t stay wet the whole way back to the hotel. Amazing experience.
This was a wonderful tour. We saw so many things we would not have been able to see but for this tour. The guides were very friendly and patient. The food was great. I would definitely want to do this tour again.

Reviews: Ten Waterfalls Off-road

We had an amazing time on our tour of the waterfalls. To be honest we wouldn't have thought we would have been able to make the climb up past the first 5 waterfalls, but our guide Deyvin Josué was so great. He made sure we were safe the whole time. Our 2 youngest kids ages 7 and 10 were able to make the climbs safely with his help.... And he helped my wife and I. It was a great workout. The views were amazing and we learned a lot about the plants and trees in the area and saw frogs, lizards and insects along the way. I highly recommend doing this if you are in the area.

This is an invigorating hike with a guide. Pablo was friendly, knowledgeable, and patient when we needed a breather. The natural landscape near Jaco Beach is beautiful and the trail is well maintained. We had a refreshing swim and fruit cup at the bottom of a waterfall. Lunch at local restaurant was delicious.
My daughter (13 y.o.) and I took this tour in July of 2024. It was just me and her in the group, so we asked the tour guide to kindly drive us both in an off-road vehicle instead of me struggling with the ATV. He agreed, and that was the best thing that happened to us. Thank God he was driving. The road is SO steep and scary, we would’ve never made it up the mountain if I was driving. The views are incredible and the lunch is tasty. The guide’s English was 6/10, but it was good enough to be able to give us basic info about the area. The guide is not allowed to take pictures of you using your phone. They use their company phone, and then said it will take a week to email us the pictures that he took. Our tour also included zip lining, which was an amazing experience, I highly recommend. Overall, we enjoyed the day.

Reviews: 4x4 Jungle Safari to Waterfall & Delicious Rainforest Lunch
W***82023-10-02
When: Oct 2023
Who: 3 adult women - 44, 32, 21
What: 4x4 Guide excursion
My sister came down to visit us and she wanted to have a little adventure! We're not a ziplining, rock climbing type of a family, so a guided off-road excursion seemed just the right amount of thrill. We were not disappointed!
Our guide, Juan took us up and down through the winding jungle trails. The journey afforded us lovely views and oftentimes it was just us and nature. At any point I supposed we could've careened off the side of the mountain, but Juan's expert driving kept us safely on the road. LOL
For anyone who has gone to La Fortuna or anyplace like that, the waterfall that we arrived at was not impressive. Technically, it is a waterfall...water is falling from a river, though not very far. However, it is a secluded spot and there is a place where you can jump into unknown depths. It is not truly a place for swimming, more like a place for paddling against the current or floating around like I did. That said, the water was very refreshing.
After the "waterfall" portion, we went to a little restaurant in town and had lunch. You get your choice of drink and a typical Costa Rican Casado where you can choose what type of meat that you want.
After lunch, Juan brought us back to the office, but he took us on a different path where the real off-roading began. We were bouncing along through plains, streams and rocky riverbeds. Loads of fun!
TIPS:
Bring closed toed shoes, preferably hiking boots/sandals, the walk down to the waterfall is tricky.
Bring sunglasses or something to protect your eyes from dirt and dust that gets kicked up.
Bring whatever you think you need: towels, bug spray...etc., the company doesn't provide those things.
