Jelena was a fantastic guide and really helped to make this tour great. I had no expectations from Kotor (never been to Montenegro before) but I thoroughly enjoyed the city walk and all the information given. Very informative and some great recommendations for after the tour finished

Our ship the Majestic Princess docked in Kotor on 4/28/25. We took a water shuttle to the mainland where we met our guide Bogdon for a walking tour of the old town. Bogdon explained that Kotor is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The old city was built between 12 and 14 centuries and is filled with medieval architecture and historic monuments and churches. He explained how the city walls extended over 4 kilometers which protected Kotor for centuries, which led up to the fortress of Saint Ivan. Kotor is known for its nightlife and has many restaurant and bars. Kotor is a beautiful town winding streets and towering hillside. We totally enjoyed our tour and learnt a lot from Bogdon. Kotor is also know for its cats, there are cats everywhere walking the streets and basking in the sunshine, it is said that cats brings good luck to the people of Kotor.

Reviews: Kotor Old Town Walking Tour

Book this. Vanja accepted my booking as a solo traveler, with one day of notice. He still ran the tour despite my being the only person signed up. This alone would be a 5 star review for me. The tour itself is great. The 6 p.m. time slot is perfect- the city is beautifully lit and less crowded than during the day. You finish at about 7:30, so you can head to dinner. Vanja speaks beautiful English and is a deep wealth of information about the history of Kotor and contemporary Montenegrin culture. He also gave recommendations for restaurants (Tanjga BBQ and Scala Santa were both awesome) and other things to see. This is a must-do for your first night in town.

Reviews: Kotor Old Town Small-Group Walking Tour

This tour was a highlight of our time in Kotor! It felt very private and was tailored to our interests. We learned so much about the city’s history and architecture while our guide led us through the maze of winding streets. No question was too silly, and we got some great tips for making the most of the rest of our trip. We added the food tasting, which was a wonderful way to wrap up, with delicious local food and great conversation. You can definitely explore Kotor on your own, but it’s so much more interesting with someone to share the stories behind it. Highly recommend!
