Reviews: Whitsundays Heart Reef helicopter tour with 90 min Heart Island stopover and glass-bottom boat
Guest User2026-08-02
We first met at Hamilton Island Air, where we learned about safety procedures before boarding a helicopter to the floating bridge near Heart Reef. Along the way, we enjoyed views of the white sand beaches, the Great Barrier Reef, and Heart Reef itself. After landing at the bridge, we took a speedboat with a glass bottom for a couple of laps around the area to admire the scenery and underwater corals. We returned to the bridge after about 10 minutes. Afterwards, we could snorkel near the bridge; there were many fish, though the variety was limited. The staff also offered champagne. After snorkeling, we took the helicopter back to Hamilton Island. The key to this activity is its high level of privacy. While it seems to be limited to a maximum of six guests at a time, it's usually not full.
