The drive from Shanghai to Lingshan takes 3 hours. If there's traffic, you might not arrive until almost noon, missing the first Nine Dragons Bathing Ceremony. The return trip starts at 4:30 PM, so time is relatively tight, which might be a bit rushed for first-time visitors to Lingshan. Lunch is a buffet at the Five Views Hall (45 RMB per person, ending at 2:30 PM inside the Brahma Palace). The performance of "Auspicious Odes" inside the Brahma Palace is usually booked by the tour guide and is well worth seeing.
