Reviews: Malta Segway: Dingli Funtastic Tour
W***02025-04-13
This trip was fabulous. I would recommend it to anyone visiting, whether you've done segway before or not. Our guide, Matthew, talked us through everything - hubby 65, myself 48, and daughter 12. We were able to practise control before we headed off. Very easy, very safe, VERY FUN! The tour included roads, paths, tracks and some gently 'rough' terrain. Nothing scary, all safe, but also sections whizzing along with the wind in our hair. Local history and landmarks were explained, there was a surprise wildlife encounter I won't spoil by naming, and the sections through the citrus groves was a feast for the senses. In the same way that riding horses makes you feel 'part' of the countryside, so does Segway. We were embedded in the perfumes and colours - and breathtaking views. The sunset section up on the Dingli Cliffs was magical. Breathtaking vista towards Africa with a never ending horizon. The sunset itself, so dramatic and beautiful.
As special mention to our guide, Matthew. He was genuinely lovely, kind, professional and had the balance of information just right for the three of us. We felt safe with him, and I would have if travelling solo or just with my daughter, too. He absolutely deserved the extra Euros we gave him as ge really did go the extra mile (no pun intended!) to make sure we were safe, happy and having fun. He also sent me some pictures and videos via WhatsApp, too, so we have these as keepsakes. Whilst this is our first trip to Malta and it can seem a mission to tick things off the list, we all agreed we'd do this tour again next visit because it was that good. Highly recommended ☆☆☆☆☆

Obviously the places we were taken were absolutely amazing… but…
It was obviously pretty full and when we got there all good seating places on top deck were already taken.
The locker we paid 2 euros was key operated and the key stayed on top of their bar area which is pretty much accessible to everyone.
They stop and Comino and you can stay there or take the bus to Gozo. We took the bus and I am so glad we did, as there was no shade in Comino, I’m not sure we would have survived there with this heat.
We had a lovely lunch at a place called Roza, which had aircon 😀 my 10 year old who is used to pretty mild weather temperatures was more than happy there.
So overall great but I’m thinking that if you have the money, a private trip would definitely be more enjoyable.

Brilliant trip, from start to end. The captain was fantastic and really informative, acting as a tour guide giving loads of local information about the islands. The slide was a huge hit with the kids and the stop at the blue lagoon has been the highlight of my kids holiday. Food on board was tasty and affordable and the cocktails were fantastic. Life jackets were available for kids as well which was great! Would definitely recommend
