We departed from the Queenstown meeting point at 7:30 AM and didn't arrive at the Milford Sound ticket office until just after 1:00 PM, stopping at several scenic spots for about ten minutes for photos. The boat trip lasted about two hours before heading back to Queenstown. In total, we spent over nine hours on the bus, which was incredibly uncomfortable – only the brave could make it! The driver spoke Chinese and was very nice! I wasn't particularly impressed by the fiordland scenery.★

We absolutely loved our day excursion to Milford Sound. The bus ride from Queenstown to MS was so picturesque and beautiful. We loved the lookouts and stops, especially the Mirror Lakes. We were blown away by all the waterfalls in the fijord and were awed by how incredibly stunning the landscape was. Milford Sound is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Loved every minute of it!Trip.com picks
