During my recent trip to Japan, I used eSIM for internet access throughout, and the overall experience was stable and practical. No physical SIM card was needed, which is incredibly time-saving for those who want to get going quickly and avoid dealing with physical cards. 📡 In Tokyo's urban areas (such as Shibuya, Shinjuku, and Asakusa) and while traveling by train, network performance was generally smooth. Everyday uses like Google Maps navigation, checking transit information, browsing social media, and uploading photos showed no noticeable delays. During peak hours in crowded areas, the speed decreased slightly, but it was still usable. 🚄 On the Shinkansen (bullet train) or while moving, there were occasional brief periods of signal instability, but the recovery was quick and didn't significantly impact the overall experience. Overall coverage was good in urban areas. ⚙️ The biggest advantage of eSIM remains its convenience. It allows you to retain your original phone number, ensuring uninterrupted SMS and call reception, which is especially useful for those who need to make calls or receive verification codes. Overall, if your needs are "stability + convenience", this eSIM is a reliable choice in Japan; however, if you have extremely high requirements for network speed, it is recommended not to assume that it will be as stable as Taiwan's 5G.
