This hike ended up being just me and my family which was really nice (these hikes are for small groups only - up to 10 max). It's possible due to the weather less people signed up. The meeting point was a gorgeous property where we watched the sun set while waiting for our guide to arrive. Our guide was Mau, he was very knowledgeable and super friendly and accommodating. While we didn't see many animals on our hike (it was poring rain, so not anyone's fault), we still managed to find some cool stuff we would NEVER have noticed thanks to his understanding of where to find wildlife. We managed to see an entire family of Coati's way up in a tree hiding from the rain. We saw some tree frogs, some really cool sleeping birds, and some meet insects. I also had a lot of questions, which he was able to answer, so extremely knowledgeable. Definitely recommend this night hike to anyone!★

Reviews: Costa Rican Bread-Making Workshop in Monteverde

My wife and I did the Costa Rica Bread Making this afternoon. It was a relaxing and informative tour with views that are hard to beat. We made two traditional recipes. A Costa Rican sweet bread, some filled with a sweet preserve like an empeñada, some in whatever shape we wanted. The recipes were passed down from Carolina and Orlando’s grandmother’s-grandmother’s recipe. The other was a corn flour based empanada. We had the choice of chicken, beans, or cheese filling. Simple and traditional recipes. Stories of the culture, their family, and farm. A must visit! Thank you for this experience.★

This was easy to book online, with good communication up to the activity. Our guide was at the reserve entrance to meet us. There were only the two of us on the tour. Miguel was superb. He took time to find out what we wanted to see. As we are very new to birding and Costa Rica the answer was everything but particularly a keel- billed Tucan. Miguel’s enthusiasm and knowledge of nature was impressive. We learnt and saw so much. We saw yellow faced griskit, brown jay, black throated green warbler, 4 types of hummingbirds, huge ficus trees, white faced monkies, long nosed coaties, and yes a Keel-Billed toucan! and I’m sure more that I haven’t mentioned. The terrain was fine for us two fairly fit 60 years old though a couple of hills made us puff. The pace of the tour was just right. Thank you so much Miguel if we come to this area again we will be sure to ask for you as our guide.★
