The ferry is very convenient. Fast! They help carry and stow my bags. They even help me fill out the MDAC for entry into Malaysia.

Booking was easy; we arrived about an hour and a half early, but we managed without speaking English. The boat was quick. I didn't like that they stowed our luggage right inside, and the front rows were piled high with suitcases! The boat shook a bit and all the suitcases fell out, but they seemed to be intact, otherwise it was fine!

We were picked up on time. There were many competitors offering pick-up services, so I was a little worried about whether we would be able to find the right pick-up company, but there were no problems. We stopped at a drive-in facility for a toilet break, 110km from the airport to the port. The speedboat cuts through the waves quite violently, so it's better to get a seat at the back inside.

The boat was crowded, and the sea was a bit rough, so we were tossed around. But overall, the captain got us there on time. The transfer staff loaded and carried our luggage.

Everything went perfectly. We only bought a ticket, and the hotel arranged a transfer to the pier. We exchanged our electronic ticket for a paper one without any problems. I want to warn you, as this might be important for some, but port entrance is 220 baht per adult. This is a national park entry ticket. It's required because Koh Lipe Island is part of the national park. We needed it when we booked the snorkeling excursion. During the trip, there's a 15-minute stop on the main island, where your local ticket will be validated, and you'll have the opportunity to explore the park, take photos, and use the restroom.
