It was a fantastic hiking trip. The guide Kladji was excellent, very informative, friendly, supportive and very professional in what he does. He is an asset to the company. It was a well organised trip. If you have thought about doing this hike, make sure you do it it’s soo worth it. Also he was more than happy to take pictures for anyone who asked. Also one lucky member of a tourist on the trip also won a free trip giveaway organised by the company.

I booked two day tours from Smart Tour Albania, one to Gjirokaster and the other one to Berat. Both of them were fabulous and amazing. The both guides Bledi and Klajdi were very experienced passionate and customer oriented. All to a participants enjoyed it the wonderful excursions I believe.

For me I was given too much detailed history of the country before we even walked anywhere. It was a lot to process all in one go. The tour got more interesting as we visited parts of the city. It was a shame that we were taken to eg. St Paul’s cathedral and couldn’t get inside due to the 6pm mass. Timing of tour should be better. Or leave it out. Listening to the tour guides own mother’s experience of how being ruled under communism affected her daily life was fascinating. I much prefer to hear this type of information as I probably wouldn’t find this on the internet or in a book.


