Reviews: Rome Vatican Travel Pass [Instant Ticket Issuance/Includes Vatican Museums, Colosseum & Other Popular Attractions/Includes Public Transportation]

In short, go for it; everything works perfectly and smoothly. Arrive at their point in advance as indicated on your voucher, where they give you tickets and explain everything in English in great detail. Then you can go and enjoy the sights.

Reviews: St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican Museums & Sistine Chapel Entry
Guest User2026-09-24
Tickets for St. Peter's Basilica were available at the first station. Then you could join the queue for priority entry. It took us about 30-45 minutes to get inside the basilica, which was very impressive. For the museum and the Sistine Chapel, you have to go around the outside and to another station. There you get the next available tickets for the next available time slot. Entry is every 30 minutes, which makes it very crowded. If you mainly want to see the chapel, it feels like you're in Ikea and have to walk through the entire museum, which we didn't enjoy. Unfortunately, we had to cut our visit short due to lack of time. However, the timing and organization by the tour operator worked well.

Reviews: Rome: Vatican Museums & Sistine Chapel Entry with Audio App

I really liked it. But I think the audio guide was weak. There was little explanation, and it should be easier to access the explanations.

Reviews: St. Peter's Basilica: Audio Guide + Dome Access via Elevator
Guest User2026-08-30
Climbing to the top of the dome is highly recommended! Plan ahead and book your tickets well in advance. While the cathedral itself is free to enter, the queues at the main entrance can be incredibly long. Choosing the elevator ticket to the top offers excellent value, avoiding the long queues at the cathedral and saving you a significant amount of time climbing stairs. The elevator only reaches the central rooftop platform; the final section to the highest point still requires walking. Along the way, small windows offer constant surprises, with stunning views at every turn. Standing in the higher cloisters inside the dome, looking down at the cathedral's interior, you'll see Bernini's magnificent bronze baldachin and the gilded throne of St. Peter in the apse—grand, ornate, and truly breathtaking. Once you reach the top of the dome, the entire city of Rome unfolds before you.
