Reviews: Yilan | FunTOUR Sightseeing Bus 1-Day Tour: National Center for Traditional Arts, Kavalan Whisky Distillery & Jiaoxi Hot Spring Park (Departing from Taipei) (Including Admission Ticket)

I seriously, genuinely recommend this! If you are a Taipei return visitor who has already been to Yehliu, Shifen, and Jiufen, you absolutely must do this! The Yilan tour locations themselves are like popular field trip spots for locals, so it is genuinely worthwhile and much more cost-effective than going on your own. Especially the 200 TWD coupon usable at Kavalan... it is seriously amazing... You can use it for the Kavalan tasting too, so it feels like I went for free... A little tip: when you go to Kavalan, don't join the tour (which is conducted in Chinese anyway); just go straight to the restaurant and down beer and whiskey one after another! Ah, I want to go again.

Reviews: Taoyuan Airport MRT Ticket (with Taiwan Specialty Coupon) | Exclusive for Non-Taiwan Residents | Essential for Traveling in Taiwan (Collect at Taoyuan International Airport + Participating Stores)

I used this ticket for travel from Taipei Main Station to Taoyuan Airport. I also used this ticket on the way there. At Taipei Main Station, you can exchange it at the ezfly terminal near MRT platform A1 (before going down the escalator). You'll receive a token and voucher with the QR code and your passport. Personally, I didn't use the voucher. It's a better deal than usual, so I recommend it.
Reviews: [Kavalan Bus●One-way●Round-trip Taipei Yilan Ticket] Taipei (Taipei Station/Technology Building Station/Banqiao Station) - Yilan (Yilan Station/Jiaoxi Station/Luodong)

As a frequent traveler between Taipei and Yilan, buses have always been my go-to choice for value. Especially for popular destinations like Luodong, the bus network is not only dense but also offers a much more comfortable experience than I expected. I. Before Departure: Diverse Options, Flexible Boarding Points In the past, when traveling to Yilan, the Taiwan Railway always came to mind. However, after researching, I found that the bus station layout is very convenient, eliminating the need to squeeze into the complex Taipei Main Station. If you live in Taipei's East District or Xinyi District, the Capital Bus at Taipei City Hall Bus Station is the best choice. It offers spacious seats and direct access to the Xinyi Expressway, quickly connecting to the highway. If you live in Taipei's West District or Banqiao area, the Kavalan Bus at Taipei and Banqiao Bus Stations has frequent departures, every 15-20 minutes, allowing you to almost always board and leave. As for the fare, a one-way ticket costs only about NT$120 to NT$150, roughly 70% of the price of a Taiwan Railway Tze-Chiang Limited Express ticket. If you plan to make a day trip, buying a round-trip ticket not only saves you time queuing for tickets but also usually offers a discount. II. During the Ride: The Delicate Balance of Comfort and the "Snow Mountain Tunnel" The experience after boarding can be roughly divided into two main camps, each with its supporters: 1. Capital Bus (boarding at Taipei City Hall Bus Station): Spacious seating, even tall passengers won't feel cramped. The bus is very clean and well-maintained, and the ride is smooth. 2. Kamalan Bus (boarding at Taipei Bus Station/Technology Building): Extremely frequent service, with fully assigned seating to ensure everyone has a place, very friendly for those with large luggage or families. There's a luggage compartment underneath the vehicle, making it easy to travel light. Personally, while Kamalan's seats are also comfortable... The most impressive thing is the "speed." During off-peak hours (avoiding Friday evenings and Sunday evenings), the actual driving time from Taipei, passing through the Hsuehshan Tunnel, to Luodong is approximately 50 minutes to 1 hour. Watching the view transform from the bustling city to the vast green plains and distant mountains of Lanyang, your mood will instantly shift to vacation mode. III. Upon Arrival: The Brand New Transfer Station Upon arriving in Luodong, the facilities are truly impressive. The current Luodong Transfer Station is a new building that opened in September 2024, boasting a very modern design. The high-ceilinged lobby, the Nordic-style decor with its wood and warm white tones, and the impeccably clean restrooms make a great first impression. Overall, I highly recommend using buses as a mode of transportation between Taipei and Luodong. It's not just a means of movement, but more like a gateway connecting the city to the slow-paced countryside.
