Inside the building, there are plenty of things to see and do, including character greetings, spectacular parades and shows, and attractions that let you enjoy a cute and charming world! The park features character-themed food, limited-edition merchandise, and plenty of photogenic spots. In addition to the popular Hogwarts Great Hall and the Hogwarts Express at Platform 9¾, you can also enjoy many wonderful scenes created by the world's outstanding filmmakers. In addition, there is a store selling a wide range of Studio Tour merchandise. It will be the first to open in Asia and will feature indoor "Harry Potter" facilities. © & ™ Warner Bros. The house point counter, which uses glass beads to display the scores of each house, is also located here. Ministry of Magic Only in Tokyo! Shibuya

8.5

4.7/5

916 reviews

Shibuya is a commercial and entertainment district near JR Shibuya station, standing alongside Shinjuku and Ikebukuro as one of Tokyo's three major sub-centers and one of the city's bustling neighborhoods. Every time the traffic light turns green, the massive crosswalk in front of JR Shibuya station is engulfed by waves of pedestrians, while giant billboards and digital screens around reflect the energy of this busy metropolis. Shibuya is the birthplace of youth culture. In this 24-hour sleepless district, various trendy fashion shops, restaurants, bars, and entertainment centers gather, and street band performances can often be seen. Major department stores are also vibrant with the presence of young people. In Shibuya, even the outfits of passersby are stylish enough, with many fashion magazines like "ViVi" and "Mina" sourcing their street snaps from here. Thanks to the prevalence of trend culture, the area is filled with fashionable men and women, and avant-garde or even eccentric outfits are not uncommon. Shopping route recommendations When shopping in Shibuya, it's recommended to start from the bustling Shibuya crossing, pass through the busy pedestrian zone Center Street and Spain Slope, and take a break at the spacious Yoyogi Park when tired. This route allows you to experience Shibuya's typical youthful atmosphere. Statue of Hachiko When you exit from the Hachiko exit of Shibuya station, you will see the statue of Hachiko. The story of Hachiko, who kept waiting for his deceased owner in front of JR Shibuya station, is well-known throughout Japan. Today, the area in front of this statue is one of Tokyo's popular meeting spots. Why not take a photo with Hachiko? Shibuya 109 Shibuya crossing is surrounded by department stores and is a highly photographed location. Across the street, Shibuya 109 houses over 120 boutique shops, offering trendy fashion that is highly representative and popular among young women, with sales staff even adopting cute and playful attitudes. Shibuya 109 also has a dedicated men's section, which is equally popular. Shibuya center street Shibuya center street pedestrian area is dotted with shops, restaurants and bars, creating a somewhat dazzling scene. It remains lively until midnight, offering a glimpse into the lives of Japanese youth. Spanish ramp A 100-m-long slope connects Shibuya Center Street to Parco department store, named for its resemblance to Spanish streets. Though inconspicuous, the Spanish slope exudes a trendy vibe with its unique shops on both sides. Here you'll find bakeries and restaurants using natural ingredients, as well as delicious coffee and wine that attract many foreign visitors. Walking up the steps through this shortcut leads to Parco, another clothing department store. Yoyogi park Continue north and you'll reach Yoyogi Park. The beautiful flowers and fountains in the park create an urban oasis for birds, where you can take a break and organize your finds from the journey. Shibuya's fashion culture in Shibuya, besides shopping, you can also experience the trendy youth culture. At Tokyo Wonder Site in front of Parco department store, you can often see works by young Japanese artists.

Tokyo Summerland

3.9

4.4/5

76 reviews

Tokyo Summerland is an ideal place to escape the heat in midsummer, where you can enjoy a refreshing time surrounded by greenery and splashing water. Entering the park, the azure wave pool is filled with laughter, and the five-story spiral slide is like a giant dragon. Challengers dive down from the top, and the water curtains they stir up reflect rainbows in the sun. Families with children prefer mushroom fountains and cartoon-shaped slides in the shallow water area, while young people rush to the racing slides in groups, screaming in the weightlessness and water impact. When you are tired of playing, lie on the floating ring and follow the circular lazy river through the green jungle tunnel. The sunlight leaking from the shadows of the trees jumps on your skin. When night falls, the lights light up the entire water kingdom, and the music party gradually reaches a climax with the rhythm of artificial waves. The aroma of takoyaki and shaved ice floats in the air-this is not only a paradise for playing in the water, but also a dream island for storing summer memories.

Mount Takao

3.7

4.4/5

184 reviews

Located west of Tokyo, at the eastern end of the Kanto Mountains, Mount Takao is one of the sacred mountains in the Tama region, 599 meters above sea level and designated as Meiji no Mori Takao Quasi-National Park. In autumn, the mountains are full of maple leaves, and it is only an hour's drive from the city center, and is called "the mountain with the most climbers in the world" that is crowded with tourists. All of these are good choices. The best time to enjoy the autumn leaves of Mount Takao is mid-November, when it will be crowded. Even if you want to go in other months, avoid weekends and holidays. It takes about three hours to go up and down the mountain. You can also take a cable car or crane from the foot of the mountain to the mountainside and hike to the top. Take a cable car ride and enjoy the scenery. Mountaineering cable cars are also known as little trains. The green trees along the slope track are very enchanting, and you can see the dazzling red maples in autumn. You can take a photo at the place where you ride the cable car wearing a conductor's hat. Japan's popular group Arashi also took a group photo here. The crane is a seat suspended by a cable. It is more exciting to ride. Although it is not equipped with seat belts, there is a protective net below. Hold the handrail and be careful of falling objects. The distance between the cable car and the crane is similar, but the crane is more exciting. Various hiking routes The hiking routes on Mount Takao have very complete marking points, and each route has different characteristics and fun. Route 1 (Omotesando Course) is a popular route from the foot of the mountain to the summit, intersecting with the cable car and crane drop-off points. After getting off the bus, there is an observation deck where you can see the Tokyo cityscape very well. On a clear day, you can see Mount Fuji, and at night, you can enjoy the gorgeous night view with sparkling lights. Continue climbing the mountain and reach Jingxinmen, where there is a huge cedar tree next to it and a statue of a "lucky octopus". It is said that touching the octopus will bring you good luck. Then you will see a fork in the road. The left side is called "Men's Slope" with steep stairs, and the right side is called "Nus Slope" with a slow road, and both roads are on the mountainside of Yaowangyuan. Yakohin was built by Emperor Shomu and has been visited by countless people for over 1200 years. In front of the main hall is a Tengu statue, the symbol of Mount Takao, which is said to enshrine real people who have trained on the mountain and acquired magical and spiritual powers. Such long-nosed stone statues can be seen all over the mountain, which is very interesting. You can also wash your hands and pray for blessings at Yaogen and ask for a signature. Then, take Route 1 for about 1 km to reach the top of the mountain. At the top of the mountain, there is a visitor's center and Route 5, which is very beautiful to walk and enjoy the mountain scenery. From the top of Mount Takao, there is a hiking trail to Mount Takao and Mount Shinba (Takao Mountain, Shinba Road), which passes through Mount Hakusan, Mount Shinshin, Mount Dojo, and Mount Shinba. It takes about 5 and a half hours on foot, but it is not suitable for ordinary tourists, so please try it. If you want to experience a different landscape of Mt. Takao, you can try trails 3 and 4, but the starting point is not at the foot of the mountain, but near the Shinshinmon Gate, and pay attention to the signs. Route 3 (Katsura Forest Course) has temperate and subtropical forest scenery mainly along the road. Route 4 (Suspension Bridge Course) has a suspension bridge along the way, and you may see animals in the forest. Route 6 (Biwa-no-ki Course) starts at the foot of the mountain and is a route that does not go through Hachio-gen. Along the way, you can see Biwa Falls, but it is difficult to walk. You can climb up. From here, you can go down the mountain and take routes 1, 3, and 4 to go down the mountain. There is also a less popular and more difficult Inariyama hiking trail (Inariyama Course). You can bring your own food and water to Mt. Takao. There are also places to sell food along the way, concentrated near the cable car and crane disembarkation points. Tengu-yaki is a famous snack here. You may want to try it. Takahashi-ya Soba, also at the foot of the mountain, is a popular restaurant.

Ghibli Museum

5.8

4.6/5

1.5k reviews

Ghibli Museum is an animation-themed museum personally designed by Hayao Miyazaki. The European-style building is entwined with trees and vines, and the "forest" in its name comes from this environment surrounded by woods. The museum invites visitors to "let's get lost together" and does not have a fixed route. It takes approx. 15 minutes to walk from Mitaka Station, and a community bus is also available for round-trip travel; you can also stroll through the park along the way. A fluffy Totoro stands in the ticket booth at the entrance, but it is only there to "welcome guests." The permanent exhibition, which recreates the studio's creative workspace, is piled with numerous reference manuscripts and hand-drawn books ranging from airplanes and ships to street scenes and characters. The interactive exhibition area uses rotating devices to demonstrate how images "come to life," explaining animation principles in an intuitive and engaging way. The "Saturn Theater" screening room loops original Ghibli short films that are only shown in the museum and never released elsewhere, with each visitor limited to one screening. The "Catbus" room, where children can crawl into its fluffy belly and roll around, is also only open to children. The adjacent reading room is filled with picture books, and there is also a special exhibition hall with themes that change regularly. You can take photos once you step outside. Climb the spiral staircase tower to the rooftop garden, where a robot soldier from "Castle in the Sky" taller than a person stands in the bushes, next to a stone tablet engraved with Laputa characters. If you look carefully in the courtyard, you will also encounter familiar figures such as the black cat from "Kiki's Delivery Service" crouching by the faucet and the pilot from "Porco Rosso," like a treasure hunt hidden in the architectural details. The souvenir shop "Mamma Aiuto" is named after the air pirate gang in "Porco Rosso." The shelves are stocked with everything from Totoro plushies and puzzles to umbrellas printed with animation scenes, many of which are limited-edition items sold only here. The "Straw Hat Cafe," with its orange walls and red windows, serves freshly made hot dogs, sandwiches, and dessert drinks. The whole tour feels more like walking into a Hayao Miyazaki animation than a conventional art museum.

Takaosan Yakuo-in Temple

3.6

[Introduction] Just an hour from central Tokyo, Mount Takao is blessed with abundant nature despite being located within the city, and is one of the most popular mountains in the world for climbers. It has also long been an important sacred site for Shugendo, a mountain of faith where people have offered prayers. At Takao-san Yakuo-in Temple, located halfway up the mountain, a ritual has been passed down through the generations to burn away earthly desires with fire and make wishes come true. Face your own heart and renew your resolve - why not take part in a goma ritual as a special experience while visiting Mount Takao? [What is Goma training?] Goma is a ritual that uses fire and is a hidden treasure in Shingon Buddhism. A monk sits in front of the fire and entrusts a goma charm with your name and wish written on it to the flames, sending your wish to Buddha. This solemn ritual, surrounded by the sounds of sutra chanting, drumming, and conch horns, is sure to be a special time for you to have a conversation with your heart.

I went on Saturday, and it was quite crowded. Once inside, you had to scan a QR code to get a photo opportunity with the characters, and that was only available for the afternoon. The boat parade pass was also only available for single people. It's an indoor amusement park, so there aren't many attractions. There are shows to watch, and you can eat various character-themed foods, which are very cute. There are also shops, Ichiban Kuji (a type of prize), claw machines, gashapon (capsule toys), etc.

Booking through Trip.com and with Trip coins, cheapest deal around. Nice to have an open viewing platform. Advantage, excellent open air experience. Down side. If the weather is like today on Tokyo (rain), all you will do is get wet watching the clouds. Even though the lower deck is enclosed, rain pub the glass will spoil. Choose Your day carefully.

This massive attraction is absolutely worth a visit, especially for Harry Potter fans, and even casual viewers will enjoy it. Strolling through the filming locations and seeing the actual sets, props, costumes, and special effects is truly captivating. I spent almost the entire day there. There are cafes where you can eat and relax, and you can also buy some great souvenirs before leaving. Definitely worth the trip!

I'd heard it was crowded before, thinking it wouldn't be too bad, but I went on a Wednesday, and it was incredibly packed! The big rides had queues of 30 minutes to an hour, almost as long as Disneyland. The rides themselves were quite fun, but unfortunately, the instant noodle rafting was under maintenance that day. From the moment the park opened in the morning to taking the cable car and then entering the park, there were queues everywhere – it was exhausting. If you want to come, choose a different time of year, like outside of summer, as there are just too many students.

I was on a business trip to Tokyo and decided to go hiking. I chose Mount Takao because it is the closest to Tokyo. It takes 1.5 hours by subway from Shinagawa to Mount Takao. There are many hiking routes in Mount Takao. I only had half a day free, so I chose Route 6 to climb the forest exploration route, Route 1 to return on the natural history route, and finally took the cable car down the mountain. It took 2 hours to hike 6.5km. Route 6 is along the stream, mostly on a rocky road. There is a plank road near the top of the mountain. The trees are tall and the ecology is relatively primitive. There are few people. Route 1 is a repaired cement road with temples along the way. There are more people. On one side of the top of the mountain, you can see Mount Fuji, and on the other side, you can see Tokyo City. The scenery is open. It is said that this is the mountain with the most climbers. Maybe it was because it was a weekday, so I didn’t see many people. In general, friends who like hiking and mountaineering are worth a visit when they come to Tokyo.

Visiting the **Ghibli Museum** was a truly magical experience. It showcases the artistry behind animation, highlighting how Ghibli, a pioneer in the field, created beautiful films without modern computers. Seeing the meticulous process of hand-drawing and painting each frame was awe-inspiring.The museum's architecture and interior perfectly capture the whimsical and mysterious essence of the Ghibli world. While photography isn't allowed, this enhances the experience, urging fans to immerse themselves fully in the magic of the exhibits. Each entry ticket resembles a film strip from the animations, making it a beautiful keepsake of the visit. It’s no surprise that the Ghibli Museum remains a favorite among locals and tourists, with tickets often being hard to come by. Overall, my visit was unforgettable and a must-see for any Ghibli fan!
