Bei Hai Silver Beach is located on the southern coast of Beihai, stretching approximately 24 km from east to west. The beach is formed by high-grade quartz sand that is fine and white, glistening silver under the sunlight—hence the name "Silver Beach." It is known for its "long and flat shore, fine white sand, clean water, gentle waves, and no sharks," making it a natural seaside bathing spot and venue for water sports. The core area of the attraction is divided from west to east into four functional zones: Happy Harbor Zone, Xiuying Tide Sculpture Zone, Silver Sand Wave-Chasing Zone, and Pingtan Listening-to-Waves Zone, unfolding gradually from lively to tranquil. The giant stainless steel sculpture "Tide" in the Xiuying Tide Sculpture Zone is a landmark of Beihai. After nightfall, the sculpture combines lighting, fountains, and multimedia shows, presenting a light-and-water dance performance synchronized with music—a highlight of Silver Beach night tours. Beihai Old Town

Beihai Old Town

Beihai Old Town is the birthplace of Beihai city, consisting of three old streets—Zhuhai Road, Shaji Street, and Zhongshan Road—and over 20 small alleys. Among them, Beihai Old Street was built during the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty. Originally named Shengping Street, it was only approx. 200 m long at first. Over approx. 200 years, it has expanded into the current arcade street that stretches over 1 km and is only a few meters wide. The arcades, a blend of Chinese and Western styles, are connected house by house, earning it the reputation of a modern architectural yearbook. This old street is worth slowing down to examine the facades: on the white-toned walls, parapets, European-style arched windows, balconies, pediments, and insect and bird reliefs are connected layer by layer, like a sculpture gallery suspended in mid-air; in the past, shops were on the ground floor and residences were upstairs, with pedestrians walking under the arcades to shelter from the sun and rain, which is the classic experience of a Lingnan arcade street. The old town is also dotted with modern historical sites such as the former site of the Customs Building, the former site of the Great Qing Post Office, and the former site of the Telegraph Office. Bronze sculptures along the street recreate the life of the former trading port and fishing harbor, while the History and Culture Museum and the Folk Customs Exhibition Hall clearly explain the history of Tanka culture and the opening of the port for trade. When visiting the old town, don't just walk along the main street: turn into Jinyu Lane to find the former Dong'an Wharf and the Jiedukou Site. Passing through the alleys so narrow you have to turn sideways to walk, you will reach Shaji Street, which is paved with bluestone slabs and is quieter and more full of local life. The various shops along the street are full of local life, and South Sea pearls and dried seafood are suitable as souvenirs. The daytime is suitable for examining the architecture and taking vintage photos, while at night, the arcades light up, and the bars and small shops become lively in a different way.

The price is much higher than that of Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden. The performance was still very good, including the fireworks display over the sea, but due to the weather, there was no drone show, and they wouldn't give a refund. This is a bad review.

Ocean Park is semi-indoor, so it's not hot in the summer due to air conditioning. There are many marine animals and fish; feeding them costs 10-20 yuan, which is inexpensive. The shows are all very good; you can see all four shows if you plan your time well. A visit takes about 3 hours. It's entertaining, visually appealing, and also a great educational experience.

I went to a paragliding base in the suburbs for an experience. The instructor was very experienced and explained everything clearly, from setting up the equipment to takeoff, so I wasn't nervous at all. After taking off, I could see the scenery of the entire valley, and the wind was blowing past my ears. It was very stable and not scary at all. After landing, the instructor would send me the video he had taken for free, with no extra charges. The experience was so enjoyable, much more fun than I had expected, and definitely worth a special trip to try.

Every city has a street steeped in history and culture, brimming with everyday life. Beihai Old Street is such a street, a century-old street brimming with charm. Its unique arcade architecture feels like a time tunnel. Local delicacies such as shrimp cakes, sweet soups, pineapple buns, coffee, tea, and freshly squeezed juice abound, while pearl jewelry and various seafood products are readily available. The Old Street has become a calling card for Beihai, attracting tourists from all over to experience its charm day and night!

The scenery of Beihai Golden Beach is also good, and the beach is also very comfortable. You can walk here, exercise, sing and dance, and do many things. Especially the sunset at night is very beautiful, and there are many people walking here.

The park isn't very large. Entry is free for seniors over 70, but the round trip is about 10 kilometers. You need to take a sightseeing bus to get in (25 yuan per person). The first three stops are on a boardwalk, where you can walk into the woods for a stroll and take photos. However, there are very few birds and fish this season, and the trees are short, so it's very sunny; be sure to take precautions. The final stop is a Tanka (boat-dwelling people) performance where you can watch and rest. Next to it is a beach with pavilions; if the time is right, you can go beachcombing.

We took the Beihai International Passenger Port cruise ship to Weizhou Island, which took 80 minutes. We were in business class on the second floor, and the ride wasn't too bumpy. I didn't experience any seasickness. From Weizhou Island to Beihai, we took a slower ship, which took about 110 minutes; this time, we were in business class on the third floor. It was good value for money, a very pleasant experience, and the food on board wasn't expensive.

It is worth a visit. This is a museum built on a group of ancient tombs in my country. The exhibits are all treasures unearthed locally. The most precious Persian pottery pot is the earliest important evidence of the exchanges between the Han Dynasty and the Persian Empire. The museum also has a restored tomb pit from the archaeological excavation. Through the exhibition, the prosperity of Hepu and the trade on the Maritime Silk Road more than a thousand years ago are reproduced. Learn about a piece of Chinese history.

Xingdao Lake Scenic Area has beautiful mountains and clear waters. There are 1,026 islands of various sizes in the lake, which looks like a shining star. It is the filming base of the 1998 large-scale TV series "Water Margin" and is worth a visit.
