Things to do in Lingao

Lingao Cape Centennial Lighthouse. Lingao Cape Centennial Lighthouse, located in the northwest of Hainan Island, is an important navigational landmark for ships entering and leaving the Qiongzhou Strait. Built by the French in 1894, the lighthouse is the oldest lighthouse in Hainan and one of the most intact ancient lighthouses preserved along the coast of China. The tower is a cylindrical cast iron structure with red and white stripes, with six cable-stayed support towers, 20.6 meters high, and a light range of 18 nautical miles. As an important historical site and representative building in modern times, Lingao Cape Lighthouse has certain research value in history, science, and art. In 1997, it was listed as a world historical and cultural relic lighthouse by the International Association of Lighthouses and Navigational Authorities. In 2013, it was listed as a national key cultural relic protection unit by the State Council.

Guyin Waterfall was very crowded during the Spring Festival. The scenic area is not large, but the itinerary is well arranged. After parking, you can walk around the river from the entrance to the waterfall. The riverside area has a bit of a primeval forest feel, with lots of oxygen. There is a viewing platform in front of the waterfall, where many people take photos. You need to find the best spot to take a picture!

There is a small road next to a memorial archway at the southernmost end of the memorial archway park. After about 200 meters, there is a fork in the road ahead. But do not turn along the fork. In front of the left side of the inscription, there is a small bridge. It is very small and covered with a piece of iron sheet. It says that no more than five people are allowed to pass through. It is a dangerous bridge. After walking about 50 meters along the small bridge, you will reach Bairen Beach, where you can hear the sound of the river hitting the rocks. There are many rocks on the beach.

We brought the kids to see the flamingos 🦩 and squirrels 🐿, and they had a great time. However, the park is quite small and not worth a special trip. It's okay to stop by if you're passing through, since you can interact with the flamingos 🦩, which the kids really enjoyed.

Enjoyed my day trip to the island. Sceneries are pretty as what most other reviews mentioned. The buggy rides are convenient and made it easy to navigate. I enjoyed the animal stop (paw paradise) the most. The roaming ducks were super cute. Aslo saw little goats, pigs, alpaca, giant turtle etc. But did not see any capybaras. The downer was that the swimming area at the last stop was closed, no swimming allowed when I was there. Also note, beware that waves can be quite choppy for the ferry ride for those that get seasick.

This attraction isn't overly commercialized. During the off-season, it's a great place to hike and take a walk. There are so many large butterflies, and you can even see geckos crawling on the walls. If you get tired or thirsty, you can buy an iced coconut to drink and rest. It's a great way to connect with nature. It's quite nice!
