Masjid al-Haram is the grand mosque in the center of Makkah, Saudi Arabia, where the cubic stone structure of Al Kaaba stands in the center, draped in a black curtain embroidered with golden verses, and the flow of people circumambulating the Kaaba on the white marble plaza continues day and night. The mosque also contains several landmarks closely related to the Hajj rituals: the Black Stone, set in a silver frame, is located at the eastern corner of Al Kaaba and serves as the starting point for circumambulation; water from the Zamzam Well is piped to drinking stations throughout the mosque for pilgrims to drink and take away; and in the Mas'a gallery between the hills of Safa and Marwa, people walk back and forth seven times to complete the Sa'i ritual. It holds irreplaceable spiritual significance and is an important symbol of faith.Makkah · 1.2km from downtown

Al Kaaba stands in the center of the marble plaza of Masjid al-Haram and is a cubic structure built of gray granite. The exterior of the structure is covered year-round with a black brocade curtain embroidered with long passages of scripture in gold thread, creating a solemn and dignified appearance. The curtain is also traditionally replaced during the annual Hajj. Its southeast corner is embedded with the Black Stone, which is regarded by believers as a sacred object. It serves as both the starting and ending point of the circumambulation ritual, and pilgrims often express their reverence by touching it or gesturing toward it as they pass. Whether in the early morning or late at night, there is an endless stream of believers circumambulating on the white marble gallery, and the sight of layers of human rings moving around the structure is truly breathtaking.Makkah · 1.2km from downtown

Zamzam Well

Zamzam Well

4.3
Zamzam Well is located within the Masjid al-Haram in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, right next to the Al Kaaba, and is one of the sacred sources of water. History and legend both point to the sacred origin of this well, which is said to have sprung forth when an angel guided Hajar, the wife of Ibrahim, and her son Ismail during their time of thirst in the wilderness. The water is seen as a testament to divine mercy. It is clear, sweet-tasting, and considered a symbol of healing and spiritual comfort. The history of the Zamzam Well can be traced back to early religious records and the subsequent maintenance and reconstruction of the Masjid al-Haram. Successive caliphs and pilgrims have repaired and protected the well and its surrounding facilities, making it an essential part of the pilgrimage rituals in Makkah. Pilgrims often use the water source as a focal point during their rituals, carrying on a tradition of respect for their ancestors and their faith. In summary, the Zamzam Well, with its profound religious significance, unique location, and ritual value passed down through generations, has become an irreplaceable and sacred element of the pilgrimage experience in Makkah.Makkah · 1.2km from downtown

🕋 Makkah — Where the Heart Finds Its Way HomeThere are places you visit with your feet, and there are places you reach with your soul. Makkah is both. Before the Kaaba, worldly worries become smaller, prayers become deeper, and the heart remembers what truly matters. Every tear carries a hope, every du’a carries a dream, and every step is a blessing. 🤍May Allah invite every longing heart to His Sacred House, accept our prayers, forgive our sins, and grant us the blessing of returning again and again. Ameen. 🤲#Makkah #Mecca #Kaaba #Umrah #Islam #AlHaram #SpiritualJourney
