Danlu Mountain Scenic Area

Danlu Mountain has completely preserved the ruins of the local Tusi who practiced Taoism and alchemy in the Ming Dynasty. Danlu Mountain is east-west, about 750 meters above sea level, surrounded by cliffs, deep valleys with shade trees, rich vegetation, inexhaustible water sources, picturesque scenery in all seasons, and high content of negative oxygen ions. It is an oxygen bar and also a good place for practicing Taoism and alchemy. The main components of the Danlu Mountain Ancient City Ruins are: 3 stone gates, 3 mountain tops, 1 Chishui Palace, 7 inscriptions distributed among them, with more than 3,000 words inscriptions. Going up along the ancient road, on a stone step along the way, the four words "Yinpen Panshan" can still be vaguely seen. On this thousand-year-old ancient road, the first stone gate we walked towards was the ground gate. But unfortunately, this gate and the city wall have now collapsed. There is no specific information on the cause of the collapse. Continue walking 200 meters forward and you can see the second stone gate - the human gate. This stone city gate is relatively well preserved as a whole. Next to it stands a stele of "Records of the Gate of the People" written in the Ming Dynasty. The first line of the inscription on the stele is the three characters of "Records of the Gate of the People". The third stone city gate, Tianmen, is well preserved. There are two pairs of stone holes on the walls on both sides of the gate, which were used to lock the city gate in ancient times. The "Yiji" stele is located next to the third stone city gate. The stele base is connected to the large stone on the ground. The stele is broken and has a few lines of missing words. These three city gates also imply that the earth breeds all things, the sky is high above, and people are between heaven and earth. Stepping into the "Tianmen" means entering the fairyland in the sky. Continue to walk up from the third stone city gate, and you will see an open area - Chishui Palace. Approaching Chishui Palace, you can appreciate its grand remains. According to the two neatly laid steps and the three-story foundation connected to it, it can be inferred that the Chishui Palace at that time covered an area of nearly 1,000 square meters. The three sides of Chishui Palace are the three peaks of Danlu Mountain: Tianxiang Peak, Jinhua Peak, and Zongyang Peak. The inner and outer alchemy furnaces are placed on Tianxiang Peak and Jinhua Peak respectively. Jinhua Peak still has the remains of the Taoist alchemy house, altar, and furnace. Walking on this ancient road that has lasted for hundreds of years, standing in the mountains that are sometimes shrouded in clouds and mist and sometimes bright and brilliant, looking at the undulating and winding mountains and the ruins left by the ancients, touching these ancient stone bricks that have been baptized by wind and rain, everyone feels a different power in their hearts...Nandan · 18.9km from downtown

The traditional Yao dwellings built along the mountains feature a stilted structure that combines wooden framework with rammed earth techniques. Their roofs, shaped like ox horns or mushrooms, reflect the White Pants Yao people's reverence for cattle and their wisdom in moisture and rodent prevention. The village houses intangible cultural heritage workshops such as bronze drum forging, spinning top making, dyeing, and embroidery, where visitors can experience traditional crafts like bronze drum production, sticky dye cloth making, and embroidery, immersing themselves in the White Pants Yao's "men farming and women weaving" lifestyle. Centered around the Yao king's village patrol ceremony, daily processions led by the Yao king showcase the White Pants Yao's costumes, weapons, and traditional rituals, offering a profound experience of their power structure and ethnic identity.Nandan · 13.2km from downtown

Baping terraced fields, terraced fields and topography are very distinctive, with different spring, summer, autumn and winter, and Nandan's unique Baikuyao ethnic customs, which has a unique momentum and magnificent landscape. The terrain is unique, the seasonal crops of the terraced fields change, and the scenery is different in spring, summer, autumn and winter. In spring, the terraced fields begin to store water and plant rice, and farmers rak the fields to plant rice. Under the blue sky and white clouds, the whole terraced fields are sparkling, like mirrors stacked on top of each other. The ups and downs are ups and downs, like pieces of emeralds, captivating the heart; in autumn, the rice paddies all over the slopes are golden and dazzling, as if the entire terraced fields are covered with a layer of gold, which is dazzling; in winter and spring, rape blossoms bloom, green leaves and yellow flowers, bees Flying butterflies, picturesque like a dream.Nandan · 27.2km from downtown

Detian Transnational Waterfall Scenic Spot

Detian Transnational Waterfall Scenic Spot

9.1
4.7/5
27.1k reviews
The Detian Transnational Waterfall Scenic Spot is located on the upper reaches of the Guichun River along the China-Vietnam border in Guangxi. Here, the boundary river meets a cliff, cascading down in three tiers with a width of over 200 m and a drop of more than 70 m, facing Vietnam's Ban Gioc Waterfall across the cliff. During the rainy season, the two waterfalls nearly merge into one, and their roar can be heard across the valley. This site also served as a filming location for the TV series The Journey of Flower. The highlights of the visit mostly revolve around this border river: after passing through the Detian memorial archway, known as the "transnational gate," you can take a bamboo raft from the shore to the foot of the waterfall, looking up as the curtain of water crashes down from the cliff top, with mist spraying onto your face—effectively "traveling abroad" on the border river. On the river, you'll often encounter Vietnamese locals paddling small bamboo rafts to sell coffee, dried fruit, and other goods, and the haggling adds a fun cross-border market vibe. After disembarking, follow the waterfall-viewing boardwalk and multi-level observation decks to admire the waterfall's full panorama from different heights. Boundary markers No. 53 (erected during the Qing Dynasty and inscribed with "Guangxi, China") and No. 836 are popular photo spots. Along the boardwalk, you'll also find Detian Temple, built by villagers in the 1980s to commemorate the Zhuang historical figure Nong Zhigao—worth a quick visit. The waterfall view varies significantly with water volume: during the summer peak season, the water is torrential and awe-inspiring, while it appears more delicate in the dry season; the bamboo raft dock has long queues in peak season, so it's advisable to arrive early for a close-up view of the waterfall; the rafts get quite misty, so remember to waterproof your phone and camera.China · Daxin

The scenic area is well-designed, clean and tidy, with a reasonable flow of movement. Walking there and taking the bus back are perfectly combined. The cave is beautiful, without any colorful lights. The design is reasonable and aesthetically pleasing.

It's worth going. There are waterfalls. I've never seen a waterfall in a cave before! It's very cool in the cave. It's not tiring to walk 3 kilometers. The scenery of the cave is a bit like outer space. There is a toilet inside! Recommended!

Instead of going to Danlu Mountain, we went specifically to do the canyoning and ziplining. The ziplining is 15 kilometers away from the canyoning, and it's all village roads, most of which are bad, narrow, and winding. Luckily, it was the end of the holiday and there wasn't much traffic. The ziplining is definitely worth doing; the kids especially loved it. You follow the water flow, and there are three places to jump in. Along the way, there are steamed buns, brown sugar, and ginger water for refreshments. After the rope course, there's nothing left to do. If you have enough time, you can spend more time there, but try to do it between 11 am and 4 pm, otherwise the water is very cold. There are unfinished changing rooms and showers at the end. A few suggestions: First, make the parking lot more level. Second, ensure proper drainage in the changing rooms to prevent moss growth.

We came at the wrong time of year, during the dry season, so the waterfall wasn't very powerful. It's also not very friendly to seniors over 60. In other cities across the country, tickets are half-price, but in Guizhou, it's full-price. Why not implement the nationally unified ticket price?

No filters are needed, and you can take photos that look like blockbusters in minutes. I think all three seasons are beautiful, and I don't know whether it's spring or autumn that has the richest colors and clear layers. It's amazing.

We went on the afternoon of October 14th, and the water level was as shown in the picture. We all thought the scenery was beautiful, and taking a bamboo raft was a must—it allowed us to experience the waterfall up close and connect with nature! Awesome! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I went in September. The last boat left at 4:30 PM. The staff said they only let boats depart for groups of eight or more, and although we only had four people, they still let us go – a huge thumbs up! It was like having the boat to ourselves. The round trip was 80 minutes, and the scenery along the way was absolutely stunning. There were natural beauties passing through canyons, as well as idyllic rural landscapes along the way. It rivals the scenery of Guilin and is definitely worth a visit. Take 1-2 hours to explore.
