Zhalong Ecotourism Area

5.6k reviews
Zhalong Ecotourism Area is located over 30 km southeast of Qiqihar city. It is one of the world's largest reed wetlands and the homeland of red-crowned cranes. The red-crowned crane is an endangered bird species, with fewer than 2,000 remaining worldwide. From March to October each year, about 400 red-crowned cranes migrate to Zhalong Wetland near the observation deck for breeding and resting. Here, visitors can admire the graceful figures of these cranes—either soaring in flight or wading through reeds in search of food. Every year, numerous photography enthusiasts come to capture these beautiful scenes. The crane flight training is a signature attraction of the scenic area, with approximately 20-30 red-crowned cranes participating in each session. You'll see a group of red-crowned cranes in the distance begin their takeoff run and flight under the guidance of handlers waving poles, circling briefly in the air before returning to the training area. Since the training area is some distance from the crane observation deck, photography enthusiasts should prepare telephoto lenses to capture spectacular shots. In addition to red-crowned cranes, you can also spot rare birds like Siberian cranes, hooded cranes, white-naped cranes, and demoiselle cranes here. The red-crowned crane flight training lasts only about 2 minutes, so be sure to arrive early. June to September is the best time to observe cranes, as there are more red-crowned cranes during this period. Some red-crowned cranes no longer migrate, so you can still see a few cranes in winter, though rarely. The reserve is a reed wetland with crisscrossing waterways, scattered lakes and marshes, and long wooden boardwalks built over the water. The attraction is quite large, and a full visit usually takes half a day. From the entrance to the crane observation area, there is a long stretch that can be covered by shuttle bus. The round-trip fare is CNY 10 per person. Board directly after ticket inspection and get off in front of the reception hall, then walk 2 km (about 30 mins) to reach the flight training platform. Upon arrival at the attraction, it is advisable to check the flight training schedule first. If pressed for time, you can take electric bikes directly to the terminal station, then walk approx. 20 minutes to the crane release boardwalk to await the flight training. In case of special weather conditions (such as strong winds, rain, high temperatures, or other force majeure factors), the flight training may be less effective or canceled. You can also take a cruise (CNY 50 per person, approx. 20 minutes) through the reed marshes within the attraction, with the terminal point at the crane release boardwalk.China · Qiqihar

Wenbo is a pearl on the beautiful Shilong River. It is a bonsai-style volcanic wonder and an ideal area for environmental magnetic therapy. The water temperature of Wenbo is kept at around 14℃ all year round. Even when the ground temperature is below minus 40℃ and the temperature difference is more than 54 degrees, it is still not frozen and is steaming. In a water area with exactly the same geographical conditions, the three landscapes are very different and unique, which is amazing. Wenbo consists of three small lakes: "Source Lake", "Mysterious Lake" and "Fairyland Lake".Wudalianchi City · 96.7km from Nehe

Longmen Stone Village is located in the eastern part of Wudalianchi Scenic Area. There are a number of huge rocks of varying sizes, some of which are shaped like various stone beasts, and some are like collapsed city walls and ancient castles. The largest rocks have a diameter of more than 5 meters. Hundreds of thousands of years ago, due to volcanic eruptions, the East and West Longmen Mountains were formed in the forested Wudalianchi area. After many earthquakes and crustal changes, a shield-shaped lava platform was formed on the mountainside platform area in the western part of West Longmen Mountain, creating this lava landscape with various scenes and unique shapes.China · Wudalianchi City

For over a hundred years, it has been a long-standing favorite spot for Qiqihar locals to stroll and relax, and it is also one of the larger comprehensive parks in Northeast China. The adorable deer in the deer park and the incredibly high levels of negative ions in the forest park made this trip full of joy and relaxation. The driver was warm, polite, and humorous, picking us up and dropping us off at the attractions on time. A happy and enjoyable journey! 👍

One particularly good thing is that the animal food is incredibly cheap, only 10 yuan a serving. It seems to be the most affordable zoo in Qiqihar among all the zoos in the country. There's a huge variety of animals, and many activities for children, all of which are free. There are also many attractions, which is great. The kids can look at the animal exhibits and then play on the slides. The electric carts are also very convenient, with parking available everywhere. There are also parades, making it a very enjoyable experience. I would definitely bring my kids back again if I have the chance.

Wudalianchi is a key scenic spot in 2026. The whole visit takes about an hour and a half. Enter from the East Gate, walk to the middle pier, take a boat to the West Gate, and then take a shuttle bus back to the East Gate.

Longmen Stone Village is a stunning blocky lava relic. A gentle wooden boardwalk winds its way through dense forests and a sea of stones, where massive basalt boulders are piled up, resembling the collapsed walls of an ancient fortress. Standing on the viewing platform, the vast expanse of black rocks and the tenacious growth of trees create a desolate yet vibrant scene, offering an immersive understanding of ancient volcanic activity—well worth taking a leisurely stroll through.

Back to Suishi Onsen again! My friends and I come every year. The onsen environment is great. This time we tried the outdoor onsen – a real contrast of hot and cold! It was amazing! The lovely lady recommended a private bathhouse, which was really great! The private bathhouse even had a small heated floor and a spa massage bed 💆🏻‍♂️ So comfortable! Highly recommended! Yueyue's service was excellent and very warm ❤️‍🔥 Thumbs up to her!

I caught the tail end of the National Day holiday and received a complimentary double ticket to Aoneng Pool on October 7th. Since only the indoor pool is open this season, the lack of outdoor facilities made it less fun than Aoneng. The butler, Nian Gao, was very thoughtful, coordinating birthday arrangements and providing special birthday benefits for the three days before and after my birthday. The lady I met during the event, Youzi, was incredibly friendly and approachable; you could tell she was dedicated to serving every customer, making for a very pleasant experience.
