Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Manila Metropolitan Cathedral

The Manila Cathedral was built in 1581 near the Citadel of Santiago and is the main building of the Catholic Archdiocese of Manila. The church has experienced constant damage from typhoons, earthquakes and wars, and the building is now rebuilt for the sixth time. The weather-beaten Romanesque architecture and elegant dome are quaint. In front of the church is the Plaza de Roma, which used to be the bullring, and next to it is the ruins of the city hall. The carriage will pass by the church from time to time, adding a strong sense of simplicity. Outside the church, the cathedral has a magnificent ornate appearance. Three huge arches are located above the steps. There are six white statues of believers on the front wall, and two lovely little angels and a solemn cross are carved on the top. Before coming to the arch, look carefully, and there are fine patterns carved on the top of the progressive door. Inside the church Walking into the church, the spacious space and golden tones are very grand. A gilded altar, a pipe organ with 4,500 sound pipes, and rosette-shaped windows with delicate stained glass are all worth admiring. There are also three chapels next to the cathedral, whose mosaics are very beautiful. Religious activities Manila Cathedral has regular religious activities such as mass, confession, baptism, etc. If it is just in time, you can watch it quietly from a distance. Wedding services are also provided here, so it is common to encounter newlyweds holding weddings or taking wedding photos here.City of Manila · 12.1km from Pasig

The oldest recognized Chinatown, Binondo's Chinese enclave was documented as early as 1594, though it was already a focal point of Chinese trading when Spanish explorers first arrived in 1521. Start at Binondo Church and follow the savory scents of oranges and sweetmeats, lychees and mooncakes. The area bordered by Ongpin, Quentin Paredes and Gandara Streets offers the heart of Chinatown, where you can browse to your heart's content and pick up noodles, yellow Chinese gold, and mysterious remedies for illnesses you may not have known you had.City of Manila · 12km from Pasig

The National Museum of the Philippines is adjacent to Rizal Park, near Manila's Intramuros. The grand comprehensive museum preserves and displays the cultural history and natural heritage of the Philippines, and houses the famous painting Spoliarium by Juan Luna. The exhibits in the museum are divided into five categories: Art, Botany, Zoology, Geology and Anthropology. Among the many archaeological exhibits is the head of a Tabon Man, the oldest human remains found in the Philippine Islands. Another Filipino-favorite exhibit includes relics and treasures from Spain's Santiago galleon, which sank in Philippine waters in 1600. The National Museum of the Philippines also provides students with artist resumes and works required to study Philippine art, and also provides consulting services to art dealers, collectors, domestic and foreign tourists and art lovers. In addition, the museum hosts free workshops for children every summer to give them a better understanding of the country's artistic traditions.City of Manila · 11.2km from Pasig

Founded in 1571, St. Augustine Church is the oldest stone church in the Philippines, and is listed in the World Cultural Heritage List as a representative of the Baroque church. Located in the city center, the church is a symbol of Philippine history. At the beginning, the church was built with bamboo, coconut leaves and mud, but it was destroyed by fire and rebuilt in 1599. The Church of St. Augustine survived five disasters and two world wars, which is considered by many to be a miracle. The reliefs in the church are meticulous and realistic, and there are precious religious paintings in the collection; the stained glass refracts sunlight, which brings out the elegance of the church. The top floor of the choir at the top of the church overlooks the church. Inside is the St. Augustine Museum, a private museum managed by Friar Tober, displaying 26 icons, antiques, and more. Several Filipino dignitaries are buried in the basement. At the same time, the St. Augustine Museum exhibits colonial religious art, priests' clothes, and wood carvings reflecting the 1614 choir.City of Manila · 11.9km from Pasig

It remains an active place of worship, a key historical landmark in Intramuros, and a major site for Marian devotion (especially during the December feast of the Immaculate Conception and the Intramuros Grand Marian Procession).

Since I was staying in a nearby hotel, I walked here for 3 minutes after registering and had lunch on the way. Although it is a bit old, the mall is probably one of the larger shopping malls in the city. It has a complete range of food and entertainment options, and there are many choices to eat. It is a good place for shopping.

The National Museum of Fine Arts is a must-visit! I love how it preserves so much history while still feeling fresh and inspiring every time. Walking through the grand halls surrounded by masterpieces like Spoliarium always gives me chills. It’s a beautiful, nostalgic spot that reminds me of school trips, but now I appreciate it even more. A timeless gem in the heart of Manila!

The Cathedral of St. Augustine in Manila, Philippines, consists of two parts: the chapel and the monastery. The Baroque-style chapel is the architectural essence of the entire St. Augustine, while the monastery is a museum, which houses a large number of precious items such as vestments, golden chalices, silver crosses, ivory statues, silk cloaks embroidered with gold thread, and oil paintings. The focus of this article is the organ in the church, which is rare to see. As a world historical and cultural heritage, the Cathedral of St. Augustine has also experienced the destruction of war, and many precious collections have been lost in various wars. After the end of World War II, St. Augustine was rebuilt. The church and the first monastery have restored their appearance. In 1965, in order to commemorate the 400 years of the spread of Catholicism in the Philippines, St. Augustine exhibited photos of hundreds of churches built between the 16th and 19th centuries across the country, which gave rise to the idea of creating a museum. Since then, St. Augustine has continuously collected various precious cultural relics lost in various wars and displayed them in the monastery for the public to see. Today, St. Augustine is not only a church and a monastery, but also a museum that houses many Philippine and Spanish art treasures. It is an important place to display the historical and cultural treasures of the Philippines and is well worth visiting. I think a whole day is not enough.

SCAMMERS! in the entrance of ft Santiago. There will be fake tour guides who look professional. They will be very chill and friendly with laminated tags and cards offering a cheap ride around the sights of intramorus. They told me 1,000 per hour for the tour. At the end they said 8,000 and tried leaving me somewhere. I tracked them down setting up for another scam for other travellers, and acted friendly. They were nervous and I asked if they wanna drink to get their whatsapp which had their contact and picture and name. Took their picture of their name tag.I questioned about the price and they told me 1,000 was for the time but the rest of the 8,000 was for the tour guide, the driver and the gas. I proceeded to the TOURIST police, by the GATE OF FT SANTIAGO and reported them. They made them give me my money back. This is my recommendation if you run into them ignore them. If you are reading after you have been scammed, remain calm. Gather intel and remain friendly. Ask and if they refuse, calmly go to the TOURIST police with the intel and report them. Do not confront them negatively to avoid anything negative against you and remain calm throughout the process.Other than that. It is a very beautiful place and highly recommended it when exploring.
