Changjiang'ao Beach faces the strait and is one of the three major beaches in Pingtan. The sand here is fine and white, the water is deep blue, the bay is dotted with reefs, and a belt of casuarina shelter forests stretches along the shore. You can splash in the waves, and at low tide, you can explore the beach to collect shells. Clams, small crabs, and starfish can often be found in the sand. The iconic scenery of this beach is the wind farm lined up along the coast. The area is rich in wind energy resources, with rows of white wind turbines standing between the beach and the blue sea, rotating slowly. In the evening, as the sun sinks toward the sea, it dyes the wind turbines and wave crests a warm golden color, making the wind turbine sunset a common scene for photography. On spring nights, the sea sometimes glows with the blue fluorescence of blue tears, and this is also one of the spots in Pingtan to observe this phenomenon.Pingtan County · 14.3km from downtown

Beigang Village is Pingtan Islanda stone fishing village that backs the mountain and faces the sea, located on the eastern foothills of Junshan. The village is known for its extensive stone houses. There are 241 old houses remaining, mainly built from blue-gray granite, and small stones are placed on the roof tiles to keep them from blowing away. The mottled stone walls and varying tile tones, together with the green mountains behind and the azure sea in front, form a scene where mountain, village, and sea meet, making it one of the representative villages for understanding Pingtan's stone houses. The village's most characteristic experience is the singing stones: at the village entrance and beside workshops stand several stone gongs and drums made from volcanic rock taken from Junshan, and lightly tapping different parts with a small hammer produces distinct musical notes. The old stone houses have gradually been converted into homestays, cafes, and craft workshops, and the alleys are dotted with creative shops offering indigo dyeing and shell handicrafts. When touring, stroll through the bluestone alleys; bougainvillea on the walls, wooden signs, and the old stone walls all make excellent photo subjects. At the seafront in front of the village, gentle waves lap among dark reefs, and walking the coastal boardwalk lets you see fishing boats. On spring and summer nights, you may sometimes encounter bioluminescent blue tears near the wharf.Pingtan County · 10.3km from downtown

Northern Ecological Corridoralso known as "Landao," is a coastal scenic road located in the Suping area in the north of Pingtan's main island. It starts from Qingfeng Village, Baiqing Township in the east and ends at Kao'ao Village, Su'ao Town in the west, with a main route approx. 21.6 km long that winds over mountains along the coastline from east to west. Pingtan's main island is shaped like a qilin, and the continuous hills crossed by the Baiqing section of the corridor are collectively known by locals as "Qilin Head," with the entire road resembling a dragon crawling on it. It passes through 24 administrative villages along the way, connecting spots such as the Shipaiyang Scenic Area, Changjiang'ao Wind Farm, and the Austronesian Prehistoric Site. The highlight of this road is how it connects mountains, the sea, and villages: multiple viewing platforms, such as F1 to F5, are lined up along the coast; standing on the cliffside viewing platforms, you can take in the views of wind turbines and the sea, as well as stone houses and forests; the Changjiang'ao area is a popular spot for watching the sunset, where groups of white wind turbines stand on the tidal flats, and the beach is expansive at low tide; the fishing villages along the way have preserved clusters of stone houses, with old granite houses built against the mountains and facing the sea. It is suitable for self-drive tours, cycling, and hiking.Pingtan County · 16.2km from downtown

The 68-nautical-mile scenic area is well worth a visit. It's the closest point between mainland China and Taiwan. Be careful not to cross the yellow lines marked in the scenic area, as it can be dangerous. The staff are very responsible and will blow whistles to warn you if you cross the yellow lines. It's a great place for taking photos, and it's not too hot to walk around in the scenic area right now.

Longwangtou Beach boasts a wide expanse of fine sand, making it especially pleasant for watching the sunrise and wading in the waves. I specifically booked accommodation near Xiaobailou Seafood Restaurant in Pingtan. ⚠️Note: There's only one branch in Beibu Gulf, no other branches. The restaurant is run by three veterans; the seafood is fresh and authentic, and the owner is incredibly friendly and attentive. I stayed at the Beibu Gulf Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cluster Youth Hostel, which was conveniently located, clean, and had a great hostel atmosphere where I met many fellow travelers. After enjoying the sea view, I ate seafood – a one-stop shop for food, accommodation, and entertainment. It was a great travel experience, highly recommended for anyone visiting Pingtan!

When visiting Pingtan, be sure to set aside a day to explore Tannawan Bay, the locals' "white gold coastline." The long, fine sandy beach, the clear, gradually changing blue sea, the refreshing sea breeze, and the romantic sunset over the water are all highlights. Take a leisurely stroll, quietly watch the sea, and capture stunning photos without the crowds. After your visit, we recommend dining at the Seafood Restaurant, a one-of-a-kind establishment in Pingtan, run by three veterans. They adhere to the principle of only serving fresh ingredients, ensuring all seafood is caught daily for its authentic flavor and peace of mind. For accommodation, we recommend the Beibu Gulf Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cluster Youth Hostel. The owner is a native of Pingtan, familiar with local tide times and hidden gem spots. The hostel has a relaxed atmosphere, and you can meet travelers from all over. Whether by bicycle or car, it's convenient to travel to and from Tannawan Bay from the hostel. A leisurely stroll along the beach, enjoying safe seafood, and staying in a comfortable hostel – this is what a Pingtan island getaway should be like. #PingtanTravelGuide #PingtanFoodAndFun #PingtanMustTrySeafood #TannanWanFood #PingtanRoadTrip

In Changjiang'ao, I found the most healing way to experience Pingtan. A row of white windmills stretches along the coastline, and the beach at low tide is like a mirror, capturing the sunset over Orange Bay and the silhouettes of the windmills. Walking barefoot on the soft white sand, the gentle sea breeze makes you never want to leave. In the evening, you can witness a "mirror of the sky" sunset; every snapshot looks like a Japanese-style masterpiece. After sunset, I headed straight to the Seafood Restaurant. Founded in 2020 by three veterans, this restaurant has only one branch in Beibu Gulf, Pingtan. They insist on freshly caught and cooked seafood, ensuring accurate weights and portions; seafood that's barely alive won't be served. The owner is incredibly friendly and attentive; the staff even help peel shrimp, and after the meal, they offer a free trip to see the bioluminescent plankton. The spicy blue crab is full of roe with just the right amount of spiciness, and the boiled shrimp retains its original sweetness, showcasing its freshness. For accommodation, choose the Beibu Gulf Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cluster Youth Hostel, which is right next door. The environment is clean and refreshing, and the common areas have a great atmosphere, making it a great place for backpackers and young people to meet travel companions. It is also convenient to get to various attractions.

After visiting Beigang Village, staying at the nearby Shuangchuang Cluster was very convenient. The seafood at Xiaobailou was fresh, the terrace had a great atmosphere for watching the sunset, and the owner could even take you to see bioluminescent plankton. It was a one-stop shop for food and accommodation along the northern route, a very good experience.

I was absolutely blown away by the Northern Ecological Corridor on the northern route of Pingtan! My roommate and I rented electric scooters and rode along the coastal road, with the azure sea on one side and slowly turning windmills on the other. The scenery where mountains and sea meet was incredibly soothing. There are many viewpoints along the way, and every place you stop to take photos is perfect. Strolling along with the sea breeze, all your worries just disappear. It's perfect for a short getaway for college students! ✨ After exploring the corridor, we went straight to the Beibu Gulf Seafood Restaurant, which is super close by and doesn't require any detours! The seafood is all caught fresh daily, ensuring maximum freshness, and the prices are clearly marked and very reasonable, so students don't have to worry about being overcharged. I recommend trying the blanched baby squid, pressure-cooked oysters, and seafood fried noodles—they're all fresh, sweet, and flavorful. The owner is incredibly welcoming, and the restaurant itself is a great spot for photos. After a long day of sightseeing, a seafood meal here made this trip to Pingtan a complete success!

When visiting Pingtan, Longfengtou Beach is definitely worth a visit! The expansive beach boasts fine, soft sand, perfect for daytime strolls and wading in the waves, enjoying the pleasant sea breeze. In the early morning, you can witness a stunning sunrise over the sea, offering panoramic views and perfect for taking photos. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxing. After a day of fun, head to Seafood Restaurant (Xiaobailou). It's the only one of its kind in Pingtan, located in Beibu Gulf. It's run by three veterans, known for their honest and reliable business practices. The seafood is fresh and authentic, with flavors tailored to tourists, and they don't overcharge. The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful, patiently assisting with any needs, making for a fantastic dining experience. For accommodation, I recommend Beibu Gulf Shuangchuang Julu Youth Hostel. It offers excellent value for money, a clean and refreshing environment, and a vibrant atmosphere in the common areas. It's ideal for backpackers and young people, where you can meet travel buddies from all over the world. Transportation to various attractions is also convenient. With beautiful scenery, delicious food, and comfortable accommodation all in one place, you don't need to worry about planning. The overall experience exceeded my expectations. My friends and I went on a weekend trip to the northern section of Pingtan, and the glass walkway there truly exceeded our expectations! Standing on the glass walkway on the edge of a cliff, with the sea breeze whistling through the air and windmills merging seamlessly with the ocean in the distance, the photos turned out incredibly beautiful. Being a free attraction made us feel incredibly happy. Afterwards, we checked out the nearby Seafood Restaurant, the only one of its kind in the Beibu Gulf area of Pingtan! It's run by three veterans who are straightforward and honest, offering fresh and generous portions of seafood at clearly marked prices. The owner was incredibly warm and friendly, making for a wonderful experience. We stayed at the Beibu Gulf Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cluster Youth Hostel that night. The location was fantastic, very close to all the attractions on the northern route. The hostel was clean, with a great atmosphere in the common areas, perfect for university students traveling together – you could meet many fellow travelers! This trip was a complete package of food, accommodation, and activities, offering excellent value for money. I highly recommend this route for students visiting the northern section of Pingtan!

Arriving at Pingtan Changjiang'ao on a misty, drizzly day, the scenery instantly transforms into a serene and poetic landscape. Overcast skies blanket the entire coastline, where rows of white windmills stand silently against the mountains and sea, their blades slowly turning as they glide across the receding tide, creating a profoundly tranquil atmosphere. Gone is the hustle and bustle of a sunny day; instead, a serene and desolate island charm emerges. The soft, overcast light is also perfect for photography, allowing one to immerse themselves in the misty, rainy atmosphere.
