Mahé Island

4.9/5
97 reviews
The island of Mahé is dotted with 65 beautiful beaches, as well as the Port Larnay National Marine Park and the Saint Anne National Marine Park. On the northeast coast of the island is the capital, Victoria, the city and port of the Seychelles. The city is surrounded by mountains and rivers, and the environment is elegant and beautiful. On the street in the city center, there is a large-scale memorial statue simulating three seagulls. It is a symbol of the ancestors of Seychelles flying over the ocean from Europe, Asia and Africa more than 200 years ago to develop and develop this desert island.Seychelles · Cascade

Praslin is the second-largest island in Seychelles. The entire island is composed of granite and covered by well-preserved tropical primeval forests, with fine white sandy beaches and azure waters stretching between massive granite boulders. The island's interior hides Seychelles' signature view—Vallée de Mai. This approx. 20-hectare primeval palm forest is listed as a World Natural Heritage site and is the native habitat of the Seychelles' national treasure, the coco de mer; wild coco de mer palms grow almost exclusively here. The coco de mer is dioecious with peculiar fruits that can weigh up to 30 kg when mature, making them the largest seeds in the plant kingdom. The forest is also home to the black parrot, which can be seen almost exclusively on Praslin; despite the name "black," its feathers are actually closer to dark brown. The island's coast presents a different face: Anse Lazio, famous for its fine, soft white sand and rounded granite boulders at the bay's entrance, is suitable for swimming and snorkeling. If you have extra time, you can also island-hop from the pier to nearbyCurieuse Islandto get up close with the free-roaming Aldabra giant tortoises.Seychelles · Baie Sainte Anne

Saint-Anne Marine National Park

Saint-Anne Marine National Park is a marine protected area established to conserve coral reefs and marine life. The park consists of 6 islands—Sainte Anne, Cerf, Ile Moyenne, Round Island, Long, and Cachee—and the surrounding shallow waters. The islands are close to each other, and most of the sea area is only 1–2 m deep, with clear and calm waters. Taking a glass-bottom boat to view fish or going snorkeling are classic activities here. You can often see green sea turtles feeding in the vast seagrass beds, and sometimes you can swim with hawksbill turtles or watch bottlenose dolphins glide past the boat. To protect this marine area, fishing is prohibited in the park. Each island has its own highlights: Ile Moyenne is a regular stop for day trips, where giant tortoises roam freely under the shade of trees, and the island loop trail can be completed in half an hour, with ruins of early settler houses, "pirate graves," and a small thatched-roof chapel along the way; Sainte Anne Island was the landing place for French settlers when they first arrived in Seychelles in the 1770s, and it became a military base to defend Victoria during World War II, with remnants of the artillery still visible on the island today; Cachee Island is uninhabited and serves as a breeding ground for seabirds. At low tide, a sandbar is exposed between Long Island and Round Island, allowing you to walk across from one side to the other on the fine sand.Seychelles · Mont Fleuri

Anse Source d'Argent

4.7/5
42 reviews
Anse Source d'Argent, also known as Silver Source Beach, is reached by following a tree-lined path through the Union Farm estate, giving it a tucked-away, secret feel. The beach's signature scene is the large, smooth granite boulders scattered across the fine white sand, which takes on a faint pink hue in the sunlight and contrasts with the clear, greenish-blue shallows. The outer edge of the beach is ringed by coral reefs, which keep the open-sea waves out, leaving the water shallow and calm. At low tide the water level is very low, making it ideal for wading and finding photo angles. At high tide the water becomes deep enough for swimming and snorkeling, and some low-lying sand coves may be briefly submerged. Checking the tide before you go can make a big difference in your experience. Cycling is the main way to get around the island, and renting a bike to get there is very convenient. Coconut groves and boulders provide natural shade, and the boulders link a string of small sand coves—each turn reveals a new composition, so allow time to wander slowly.Seychelles · La Digue

La Digue is separated from Praslin by only a stretch of water and is a small island known for its laid-back atmosphere: there are almost no motor vehicles on the island, and traditionally, people got around by bicycle and ox cart. Today, renting a bicycle to slowly ride around the island along coconut-lined paths remains a classic way to experience it. La Passe on the northwest coast is the center of the island, where most of the piers, restaurants, and bicycle rental shops are concentrated. L’Union Estate Farm in the southwest is a place to visit on the island, where you can see demonstrations of traditional copra pressing for coconut oil, walk through vanilla plantations, and get up close to the massive Aldabra giant tortoises. Continuing through the farm, you will reach Anse Source d'Argent, famous for its weathered granite boulders, turquoise waters, and fine white sand; it gained fame as a filming location for the movie "Emmanuelle." Birdwatchers can head to the JRVH+3J6 to look for the rare Seychelles black paradise flycatcher, which is endemic to the Seychelles. Those with good stamina can hike to the island's highest point, Nid Aigle, which offers expansive views from the summit, taking in the entire island's coconut groves and the turquoise sea views of the surrounding islands.Seychelles · La Digue

This is the height of the Seychelles, and it is a better place to overlook the entire Mahe Island and enjoy the panoramic view of the mountains and seas. It's also a great place to hike, and you can pick up some picture brochures at the Victoria Botanic Gardens, or ask a local guide to go with you.Seychelles · Port Glaud

Beau Farlon Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Seychelles. This 3-kilometer-long beach is famous for its white and fine sand, clear blue water and rich tourist facilities, attracting a large number of tourists to come for vacation. The sea water is clear and transparent, and there is a rich coral reef ecosystem on the seabed, which is suitable for swimming and snorkeling all year round. The sand is fine and white, and it is backed by lush palm trees and Takamaka trees, providing natural shade for tourists. In addition to natural beauty, Beau Farlon Beach is also well-equipped with facilities, including many restaurants, cafes, bars and markets, offering local and international cuisine. Beau Farlon Beach vividly interprets the reputation of Seychelles as the "Garden of Eden on Earth". Not far from the market, you can walk to a T-junction with a traffic light, and then walk forward to see the legendary "Little Ben". The clock tower is about 5 meters high and exists today as a monument. It is surrounded by the Seychelles library, post office and major banks. It is a very prosperous street in Victoria. Opposite the post office is the famous pirate restaurant.Seychelles · English River

Eden Island, Seychelles is an artificial island in Seychelles, located north of the airport on the east coast of Mahe Island, and is a masterpiece of Middle Eastern oil tycoons. Connected by ajetty, it is just a few hundred meters from the main island of Mahe. This small island, facing Sainte Anne Marine National Park, is also a residential area in Seychelles. As a representative project for attracting investment, the buildings on this artificial island, including luxury homes, shopping malls, and marinas, mirror those of thePalm Islandsin Dubai. Today, it has become a yacht marina. Looking down from the hills, the clusters of bright red buildings set against the azure sea are stunning. It features over 400,000 m² of private properties and 160,000 m² of private waterways. Residents on the island all have private berths for their yachts. As one of the few superyacht marinas in the world capable of docking yachts over 100 m, Eden Island International Marina is also a place to experience the lifestyle of the affluent.Seychelles · Eden Island
Mission Lodge Lookout

Mission Lodge Lookout

4.2
On Mahe Island in Seychelles, there is a hidden gem that blends rich history with natural scenery—Mission Lodge Lookout. It is more than just a lookout; it is a historical site that captures the essence of time and human memory. Located in the mountains of northern Mahe Island, this tranquil spot is reached by following a winding mountain road through dense forests and tea plantations. The centerpiece of the lookout is a pavilion built on the mountainside. Surrounded by lush greenery and filled with the sounds of nature, it feels like a sanctuary far removed from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Standing at the pavilion and looking out, you are greeted by a magnificent panorama. You can clearly see the scattered plantations below, the winding coastline, and the sea, where deep green and light blue waters intertwine—a captivating view where the mountains meet the sea. Whether you are tracing the footsteps of history or simply longing to enjoy a magnificent ocean view from the mountaintop, this is a must-visit destination.Seychelles · Port Glaud

The St. Anne Marine National Park in Seychelles is definitely a very charming seaside park. It has beautiful bays and outrageously blue waters, and there are well-preserved coral reefs under the sea. It is also a very famous snorkeling resort in Seychelles and is definitely worth a visit.

Unbeatable sea view, slow pace, riding a bicycle, hot summer, it's like returning to childhood. The first beach is very shocking, super beautiful, De Argen is very unique, suitable for snorkeling, and the unknown beaches everywhere are beautiful. It's a pity that I only stayed for 2 days. After the epidemic, I hope to find time to revisit the old place and slowly feel this island.

After leaving La Digue, we went around several other islands in Seychelles. When we returned to Mahe Island for the last two days, I was very grateful to the colleagues of the Tourism Bureau for arranging our group on Mahe Island. The small pier and the sunset gave people a very pleasant feeling.
