Things to do in Skagway

We visited the sled dog tour on 7/24. It was the BEST excursion we had. We learned SO much about the Iditarod. What a very challenging race it is. We got to see the dogs in action. Kudos to the dogs, they love it so VERY much. We got to hold 4-wk old future sledders. And I would like to say "Thank You" Peter & Therese for your hospitality & allowing us to hold those beautiful puppies. 😍

During the gold rush era, the Red Onion Saloon on Skagway's Broadway was a bar on the first floor and a red-light house on the second floor for gold diggers to seek pleasure. Today, the Red Onion Saloon is a bar and restaurant, displaying old photos from the gold rush period, which reminds people of the history of the gold rush. The half-covered windows on the second floor of the Red Onion Saloon are lined with female models to show tourists the scenes of the year. I didn't go inside, but only took pictures of the exterior. My friend went in to drink beer and shared pictures.

This is the area where the Eskimos live. Because we had a tour guide, we had a very comprehensive tour. He gave us explanations along the way, which allowed us to understand the buildings here and the life of the Eskimos. Very interesting

We took a local bus from Skagway cruise port to Reid Falls. The bus ride is $5 one way and admission is free. Highly recommended as it is a refreshing short hike along the falls.
