Oliwski Park

Oliwski Park

4.5
Oliwoski Park is a historic and picturesque park located in the Oliwa district of Gdansk, Poland. The park is charming with dense woods, colorful gardens and tranquil lakes, like an oasis in the city. Among them, the Baroque-style French garden is a highlight of the park, with carefully arranged flower beds, geometrically trimmed shrubs and two neat rows of lime trees, forming a "prince's landscape" and creating a dreamy visual effect. Extending eastward along the lime tree avenue, at the end is a pond surrounded by trees. From a certain angle, it seems to be connected to the Gdansk Bay several kilometers away. This road is also called "the road to eternity" by the monks. In addition to beautiful natural scenery, the park also has many cultural landscapes and entertainment facilities. There is the historic Oliwa Cathedral, whose interior is gorgeously decorated and often hosts cultural events such as the International Organ Music Festival.Gdansk · 3.4km from Sopot

St. Mary's Church is the largest brick church in the world and is a Gothic structure. The church is 105.5m long and 66m wide. Unlike churches in Italy, it is not overly luxurious or flashy; it features deep red exterior walls, a towering spire, and heavy, ajar doors, giving it a simple yet substantial feel. The pipe organ inside is also very classical—magnificent yet refined. Climb the tower for a panoramic view of Gdansk, and you can even see the Baltic Sea in the distance.Gdansk · 11.8km from Sopot

Long Market is not actually that long. It is a short street from the Golden Gate (Zlota Brama) to the Green Gate (Zielona Brama). As it was the route used by Polish kings for processions in the past, it is also known as the Royal Route. Long Market is lined with beautiful, historic buildings. The clock tower, the cathedral, and theOld Town Hallare located right by this square. There are many small shops selling amber products along the street, so the Long Market is also a great place to buy souvenirs.Gdansk · 12km from Sopot

The Motława River flows through the northern Polish city of Gdańsk and is one of the representative waterfront landscapes of the city's historic district. The river is closely related to Gdańsk's port trade, shipbuilding industry, and urban development. In the past, merchant ships loaded and unloaded goods such as grain and timber here, gradually making Gdańsk an important trading center along the Baltic coast. Today, both banks preserve many restored historic buildings, warehouses, and docks, with colorful gabled buildings reflecting on the water, exuding a strong Nordic port city atmosphere.Gdansk · 11.8km from Sopot

The reason why it is called Amber Street is because the two sides of this street are full of shops dealing in amber products. Those who are interested can come and buy souvenirs, but the price of amber is still a little expensive.Gdansk · 11.9km from Sopot

The boulevard is the main pedestrian street in the main city of Gdansk, passing through the front gate (once an interrogation room Katownia), the Golden Gate (Złota Brama), to the Green Gate (Zielona Brama) at the eastern end, which is right next to Gdansk's main river Motra Motława. There are many beautiful buildings and sculptures along the street, as well as art and jewelry stores. These trendy restaurants, shops and galleries also bring this street to life. Like most pedestrian streets, it is very lively.Gdansk · 11.8km from Sopot

Warsaw Old Town is located in the heart of Warsaw, the capital of Poland, and is an important part of Warsaw's historic center, as well as a hub for local historic architecture and urban culture. It was formed in the Middle Ages, with streets extending outward from the Market Square, and is surrounded by colorful historic buildings, churches, cafes, and restaurants. The Market Square is the main public space here, lined with townhouses featuring decorative facades, and it features the Warsaw Mermaid statue in the center, a representative city landmark. Today, it is both a residential area for daily life and an important destination for tourists to learn about the history, architecture, and culture of Poland.Poland · Warsaw

Golden Gate is one of the landmark buildings on Long Street. It was built in 1612-1614 and rebuilt above the original Gothic gate. The golden carvings on the Golden Gate are very dazzling. The plain white walls are paired with golden decorations, giving it an understated beauty. The low wall beside the door is printed with inscriptions symbolizing the spirit of the city, the west side is peace, freedom, wealth and reputation; the east side is negotiation, controversy, piety and prudence.Gdansk · 11.7km from Sopot

We stayed at a lakeside hotel in Gdansk, Poland. The environment was very beautiful. The next day we went to the famous Amber Street. Although the street is not long, the shops on both sides sell amber products, which is very distinctive.

Warsaw’s Old Town is a stunning testament to the resilience and rich history of the Polish people. Originally established in the 13th century, this UNESCO World Heritage Site was almost entirely destroyed during World War II but has been meticulously reconstructed. Walking through the cobbled streets, visitors can feel the blend of medieval charm and historical significance in every corner, from the colorful facades of historic tenement houses to the grandeur of the Royal Castle, which offers a fascinating glimpse into Polish royalty and national history.Market Square is the heart of Old Town, where vibrant cafes, restaurants, and shops offer everything from traditional Polish cuisine to charming souvenirs. Statues and monuments, such as the iconic Mermaid of Warsaw, add to the area’s character and reflect the deep cultural symbolism of the city. Nearby, St. John’s Archcathedral and other churches showcase exquisite architecture and house important religious relics.Whether you're a history enthusiast, a culture seeker, or simply looking for a beautiful place to explore, Warsaw’s Old Town offers an unforgettable experience that celebrates Poland's endurance, beauty, and cultural heritage. It's a place where past and present beautifully coexist, making it a must-visit for anyone coming to Warsaw.
