Zuilong Temple in Takaokayama, the Bodhi Temple of Duke Zuilong Maeda Toshinaga, a Japanese national treasure in the entire Toyama Prefecture. Earlier, when Maeda Toshinaga's father Maeda Toshinaga was still alive, he remembered the old boss Oda Nobunaga, and established Hoenji Temple in Kanazawa in 1594 to support the Nobunaga father and son who were killed in the Honno Temple Incident. In 1613, Takaoka Castle, the residence of Maeda Toshinaga, was completed, and Toshinaga brought the temple, which had been renamed Hoen-ji Temple, to Takaoka. When Li Chang died in 1614, Faen Temple became his Bodhi Temple and was renamed Ruilong Temple. From 1646, the second-generation lord of the Kaga domain, Maeda Tossaka, began to rebuild the seven halls of the Zuilong Temple. After nearly 20 years of hard work, he finally built the current Zuilong Temple in 1663.Takaoka · 2.4km from downtown

The Great Buddha of Takaoka, the Great Buddha of Todaiji Temple in Nara and the Great Buddha of Kamakura are also known as the Three Great Buddhas of Japan. It is a building in Takaoka. This Buddha statue itself is not very long, it was built in 1933; however, the past and present life of this Buddha statue can be described as a long history and ill-fated. As early as 1221, Yuan Yisheng built the wooden Takaoka Buddha here (of course, there was no place name Takaoka at that time), but it was moved to another place in 1609, and then it caught fire. In 1745, another golden wooden Buddha was built, and in 1821 it caught fire again. The persevering Takaoka built the wooden Buddha for the third time in 1841. In 1900, a fire broke out in the castle town of Takaoka, and 60% of the market was destroyed. The Buddha failed to protect itself and was burned for the third time. So Gao Gangmin began to think about the pain and decided to build a big Buddha that could not be burned. Combining the local casting skills of Takaoka, the construction of this bronze-cast Buddha started in 1907 and was finally completed in 1933.Takaoka · 1.2km from downtown

This is a wide waterfront park surrounding the Togan Canal. In this open garden full of lawns, everyone from children to the elderly can spend a happy time. The Tenmon Bridge with an observation deck is the symbol of the park. There is also a square with fountains and waterfalls. In addition to large-scale amusement facilities, you can also take the Togan Water Cruise Route to travel around the canal. There is a world-class "Starbucks" coffee shop and a high-end French restaurant "LA CHANCE" supervised by Mr. Hiroyuki Sakai, the first French chef. Throughout the year, various interesting events such as fireworks festivals are held according to the seasons, so you can see its new look whenever you go. In addition, the dreamy night view with lights is even more beautiful and is worth recommending.Toyama City · 17.4km from Takaoka

Amaharashi Coast – Noto Peninsula Quasi-National Park | ReviewThe Amaharashi Coast, located in Toyama Prefecture within the Noto Peninsula Quasi-National Park, is a stunningly scenic spot where the sea meets the mountains in dramatic fashion.Scenic Beauty:The coast is famous for its picturesque views of the Tateyama Mountain Range across Toyama Bay. On clear days, the snow-covered peaks seem to float above the sea, offering one of Japan’s most iconic coastal landscapes. The coast is lined with pine trees and dotted with rocky formations, giving it a peaceful, almost timeless atmosphere.Cultural Highlights:One of the key attractions is Yoshitsune Rock, tied to the legend of the samurai Minamoto no Yoshitsune, who is said to have taken shelter there during a storm. A small shrine stands atop the rock, adding historical depth to the location.Accessibility:The coast is easily accessible via the JR Himi Line. From Amaharashi Station, it’s just a short 5-minute walk to the beach. The station itself is a charming wooden building that adds to the nostalgic vibe of the area. What Visitors Say:“Very peaceful and good view location.” – Mingche C.“A must-see for people in the area. Great views of the Noto coast and the Tateyama mountain range when the weather is clear.” – Theron M.Tips:Visit on a clear winter day for the best views of the mountains.Mornings are ideal for photography and fewer tourists.A nearby roadside station offers food, drinks, souvenirs, and restroom facilities.Final Verdict:A hidden gem of the Hokuriku region, Amaharashi Coast is perfect for nature lovers, photographers, and history buffs. The combination of sea, mountains, and legend makes it a truly unforgettable experience.

I go there often. When I go, I usually get the hot stone sauna set. This hot stone sauna has an "Aufguss" attraction four times a day, which I look forward to and makes me sweat a lot. The other day I spent 4-5 hours in the hot stone sauna (including lunch), and then went to the regular baths (which also have a sauna, steam sauna, and various other baths), and spent about 2 hours there, which made me feel refreshed.

After 23 years of renovation, the Dharma Hall and the Great Reception Hall were finally designated as national treasures two years ago. There are seven magical objects. You can also look out over the snow-capped mountains in the distance through the mountain gate. For the first time, the ceiling can be seen with the colorful chrysanthemum emblem of the imperial family. The five lines on the outer wall show its status as the highest-level temple of the Pure Land Sect.

Toyama Canal Park is perfect for a relaxing stroll! The canal is lined with green trees and has wide trails, making it comfortable for cycling or walking. The landmark "Tianmen Bridge" has a beautiful night view, and its reflection on the water is super dreamy. There is also a Starbucks in the park, and it is very comfortable to sit in the open air and drink coffee. Cherry blossoms in spring and red leaves in autumn, each season has different beautiful scenery, and both locals and tourists love to come here!
