📍Kuirau Park A free geothermal park near the city center of Rotorua! As soon as you get off, you can smell the strong sulfur scent, and there's a free foot-soaking area too! The park is quite large, making it a pleasant place to explore! Recommended for adventurers 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕 Convenient parking 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕 Willing to visit again 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕

The National Kiwi Conservation Centre is located at the Agrodome Farm in Rotorua. The 10:15 tour is for 16 people. The guided tour includes a brief introduction to the farm, which has ostriches, various sheep, various cattle, alpacas, wild bluebirds, and ducks. It's kiwi breeding season, and we saw many newborn kiwis. There was also a feeding session to watch—so cute! The exhibit is as follows: Exhibition Hall (specimens can be photographed) → Adult kiwis → Incubator (eggs) → Nursery (3 kiwis) → Nursery (feeding session). Females are larger with curved beaks, while males are relatively smaller with straight beaks. The experience is comprehensive; besides seeing and hearing, there are Q&A sessions and the opportunity to use toys and props to feel size and weight. The website offers more in-depth participation programs (it seems there's only one spot per day) and the option to adopt a newborn kiwi and name it (similar to giant pandas in China). It was a fantastic experience! The staff there were friendly, experienced and helpful. The luge ride themselves were fun, speedy and safe. The tracks themselves were fun as well, with plenty of sections where we could still turn at full speed. There were 5 tracks originally, but on the day we played the luge, only 3 were open 😔. We would have loved to played more. The chairlifts ride back up to the starting point was also very relaxing, giving us ample time to admire the scenery and also spot some cute and fluffy rabbits along the way, before going down for another exciting ride.

Finally, my child is 6 years old! This Rotorua trip is ready to go! It strikes a rare balance in family travel: it's exciting enough for kids, but not too difficult for parents. ✅ Suitable for ages 6 and up. The classic route requires no zip-lining experience and has low physical requirements. Professional guides lead the way, familiarizing children with the equipment and movements before gradually tackling the zip-lining and suspension bridge challenges. ✅ Give your child a chance to "do it themselves." Parents don't need to rush to solve problems for their children. The hesitation when standing on the platform, the pre-trip tension, and the excitement upon arrival will all become concrete growth experiences. Many children, after completing the first leg, don't say "That was scary," but rather, "I want to do it again!" ✅ More than just zip-lining. This journey takes you deep into Rotorua's pristine forests. Children can observe silver ferns and search for blue mushrooms among the treetops, while listening to guides introduce the North Island Robin, Tūī, New Zealand Pigeon, and New Zealand Fantail. ✅ Suitable for the whole family This isn't a playground where children play alone while parents wait on the sidelines. The whole family will trek through the forest, cross suspension bridges, and challenge themselves on zip lines, waiting for and encouraging each other. At the end of the trip, everyone will share a common memory. ✅ A vivid lesson in nature on the side Children will not only learn about New Zealand's native flora and fauna but also understand forest restoration and ecological conservation. Seeing firsthand how a forest recovers its vitality is far more meaningful than simply telling them "to love nature." Scenery: Fun:

The volcano does have two sides. When it is mild, it creates comfortable geothermal hot springs, but when it is angry, it can swallow everything. This small village is where the volcano erupted.

While the meticulous set design, the stunning Waikato rolling hills, and finishing up with a drink at the Green Dragon Inn provide a genuinely charming afternoon, the ticket price and time commitment can certainly feel steep if you aren't emotionally invested in J.R.R. Tolkien's universe or Peter Jackson's films. For die-hard fans, it's an unforgettable pilgrimage, but for casual sightseers, New Zealand offers plenty of incredible natural landscapes that require no prior fandom to appreciate.
