Dove Cottage is the last stop before arriving at the town of Grasmere. Unfortunately, the Dove Cottage is undergoing extensive repairs to welcome the 250th anniversary of William Wordsworth's birth. At that time, the museum will reopen to the public.
[Dove Cottage] Dove Cottage is a house on the edge of Grasmere in the Lake District of England. From December 1799 to May 1808, it was the home of the poet William Wordsworth (7 April 1770 – 23 April 1850) and his sister Dorothy Wordsworth, where they spent eight years "living simply but thinking quickly". During this period, William Wordsworth wrote many of his poems that are still remembered today, including his "Ode: A Hint of Immortality", "Ode to Duty", "My Heart Leaps" and "I Wandered Lonely Like a Cloud", as well as his autobiographical epic "Prelude".
