It is known as the “Little Huangshan Mountain” and includes three peaks: Yujing, Yuxu and Yuhua. In Sanqingshan, you can watch the beautiful sunrise amid the sea of clouds, admire the peculiar stones in the mountains, and walk the high-altitude plank path. The scenery is even more beautiful when the azaleas are in bloom during May and June.

Sea of Clouds Sightseeing in Yushan

4.6

Yushan is a majestic mountain with overlapping peaks and is surrounded by clouds all year round, forming a magnificent sea of clouds. Every morning or evening, the clouds roll in the mountains, like a turbulent ocean. The ideal seasons for viewing the sea of clouds at Yushan are spring and autumn, when the climate is pleasant and the sea of clouds is particularly spectacular. One-Line Sky is located within Nanqing Park. It is named for the sliver of blue sky visible through the gap between the two towering cliffs. You will pass through here on the way from the spectacular Shenlong Xisong Scenic Area to Yunu with Open Arms. It has a vertical drop of nearly 100m, a slope length of 120m, and the canyon is only 0.7–1m wide. The stone steps here are steep, and climbing them requires some effort. The 299 steps are a homophone for 'love forever' in Chinese, symbolizing everlasting love. Near the handrails at the top of the steps, the most eye-catching sight is the dense collection of love locks engraved with the names of countless couples. Couples shouldn't miss this opportunity to attach a love lock to the chains and pledge their eternal love!

The Python Mountains are located in the Nanqing Park Sanqing Mountain Scenic Area, facing the distant Goddess of the East. They're included among the three great sights of the Sanqing Mountains. They are naturally occurring granite stelae, with flat heads and slightly thinner necks. Thus they resemble giant pythons that have burst forth from the mountain. They've stood tall for more than 100 million years through wind and rain, and are extremely mystical.

Sunrise Sightseeing in Yushan

4.1

The sunrise at Yushan is a natural wonder that makes people feel relaxed and happy. When the first ray of sunlight penetrates the mist and shines on the top of the mountains, the whole valley seems to be embraced by the golden light. Yutai is located in the east of the Nanqingyuan Scenic Area of Sanqing Mountain, with an altitude of more than 1,000 meters. It has a very wide view and is a good place to watch the sunrise. The Jinshaxi Observation Deck is also a good viewing point. There are not only clear streams, but also a wide view. When the sun rises from behind the mountain, the golden sunlight and the sparkling water surface complement each other, which is very pleasant.

Hiking up the mountain and taking the Waishuangxi cable car down, there were basically no queues! It wasn't raining when we started climbing, but it suddenly started pouring rain near the summit, and there was nowhere to hide, so we got soaked! 😄 The mountain was shrouded in mist, so beautiful! I visited once in 2015, and the scenery of Sanqing Mountain is even more beautiful ten years later.

The scenic area is very quiet, and it's best to visit on foot during the high-water season. The terrain is quite unique, so it's better to learn about it beforehand. Booking tickets on Fliggy offers discounts and is convenient and fast.

[Scenery] Very good, the air is super good! Be sure to take a few more breaths of oxygen when you are nearby! Hahaha 😂 It happened to rain that day, and we couldn't see anything when we took the cable car. It was always in the clouds and fog. It was a different experience! [Fun] Not interesting, regular type. [Cost-effectiveness] Not high, 125/person.

It feels like there are fewer people than Jinsha, and the scenery is nice after taking the cable car. The farmhouse food at the foot of the mountain tastes good, and there are a few relatively new hotels near the cable car. I asked the chartered car driver and found out that most tourist groups go to Jinsha, so the leisure of Shuangxi Cable Car is more obvious.

The Giant Python Out of the Mountain is a giant granite pillar, 128 meters high, with a flat top and a slightly thin neck. The thinnest part is about 7 meters in diameter. It looks like a huge python breaking out of the mountain, which is very lifelike and makes people marvel at the uncanny workmanship of nature. It is one of the "three great views" of Sanqing Mountain and the highest natural python peak in the world, with extremely high geological and landscape value.
