Pricey for the size. Though clean, the hotel is old and the room showed its age. The toilet smelled of pee. Btw, Shinjuku Station is humongous, so it still meant like an 8-minute walk from the JR Station."

Outstanding room - Spacious, clean with very good amenities. Good views of surrounding areas. Buffet breakfast at 2 locations but essentially same offerings. Earliest time for breakfast was 7am, and queue started forming earlier outside the Garden Restaurant. Staff were very courteous, welcoming and helpful."

One thing I did not like are the automated check-in kiosks. when I needed questions about breakfast or check-out information, I had to hail for a staff who is also busy at other kiosks. Not sure if this is the right direction HOTEL EXCEL should be taking in terms of service. I must say that their breakfast situation was a pleasant surprise because I truly enjoyed the food selection. Recommend getting their breakfast. Overall, this hotel met my all my needs. Will not hesitate to stay here for a night again in the future if my itinerary requires it."

They were quite strict with the check in time (no early check in), but they will keep your luggage if you come early, The check in/out process were automated, it was smooth and I had a very pleasant stay."
