Every April, Okinawa's Ryukyu Sea Festival is an event not to be missed. The 2025 festival will be held at Ginowan Seaside Park on April 19.
Admission is available from 15:30 on the day, and a stunning fireworks show will be staged from 19:00 to 20:00, with about 10,000 fireworks competing for beauty in the night sky. They bloom with the rhythm of the music, turning into shapes such as meteors and waterfalls, with gorgeous light and shadow, reflecting each other with the sea surface, like a dream.
The festival is based on the theme of "Ryukyu Mythology". Modern technology is used to reproduce the legend of the Dragon Palace and the wisdom of the islanders. Traditional Taigu and electronic music cross-border performances bring a unique audio-visual enjoyment. The main venue, the floating island food market, has special delicacies such as grape sashimi and Okinawa soba noodles.
Please note that in case of severe weather such as strong winds and heavy rain, the event may be cancelled. You can buy tickets in advance and choose seats. For example, free seats can be sat on the beach as you like, and SA seats can experience the charm of fireworks up close.
