In recent years, I've taken night cruises in Zhenyuan, Guangzhou, the Pearl River, Chengdu, Ningbo, Nanning, and Chongqing. Guilin's bus was the most expensive, and the experience was also the best. Ningbo's 110 bus was the worst. Besides the lights on both sides of the Three Rivers and Two Lakes night cruise, each bridge we passed had its own unique character. The pier was right at the end of the pedestrian street, and we even watched the waterfall hotel release water. It was quite unique and a must-see in Guilin. We stayed at the Guilin Hotel and walked back directly after the tour; it was very close.
The route was very smooth, making it difficult to get seasick. The refreshments on board were also good. However, it's easy to mistakenly think of the "Two Rivers and Four Lakes" route when purchasing it! In fact, this route only covers the four lakes, and it goes back and forth to the Riyue Bay pier. The guide's voice was too quiet to hear clearly. The night views on both sides were beautiful, and although the trip lasted less than an hour, I still felt like I wanted more.

The first time I saw the terraced fields, I was very shocked. I went there in the off-season, so there were very few people. I didn't need to stay in the mountains, and half a day was enough to play there. If you are carsick, take medicine in advance, because the mountain road is really winding.

This time I took a four-star cruise 🛳️ in Guilin, from Guilin to Yangshuo, which felt good. The seats in the upper cabin were comfortable 😌 and spacious. The scenery on both sides of the Li River was beautiful. I also ordered osmanthus fish as an extra dish on the boat, which tasted good!
The scenery was stunning, but the buffet on the four-star Li River cruise was a rip-off. It was called a buffet, but it was essentially separate boxes of food placed on plates for passengers to pick up. There were only six or seven dishes, and once you picked them up, they were practically gone. They then offered a side menu, which was quite expensive: four small plates cost 100 yuan.

I recently went to Yangshuo West Street with friends and stayed at a hotel there. Looking out the window at the misty scenery, it felt like I was in the misty Jiangnan region. It was truly poetic.
Strolling West Street at night was quite fun, with all the unique attractions, light shows, and delicious food. I'd definitely go again.
The night in Yangshuo lights up the entire valley. West Street begins to awaken at 7 a.m., lanterns burning along the bluestone slabs. The aroma of beer-soaked fish mingles with the melody of guitars as it drifts from the bars. I sipped a cup of osmanthus wine at "Xiao Ma's Heaven" and listened to the lead singer transform "Chengdu" into "Yangshuo"; the French girl at the next table clapped along. Late at night, I went to "Kung Fu Tavern" to listen to original folk music. The drums pounded, and the whole street pulsed with the rhythm. At 2 a.m., the lights were still on, and I walked slowly, following the shadows on the stone slabs, back to the Yangshuo Xuli Hotel, fifteen minutes outside West Street. The only sound was the croaking of frogs, a silence as if the revelry had been muted.

We took a cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo, absorbing the beautiful views of the karst mountains from the water. Then we stayed at an inn outside of the old town so we could spend some quiet time relaxing and exploring the countryside. There were hiking trails through small villages, along fruit orchards. I also hiked to a little 500-year-old bridge and up some mountains for the gorgeous views. Street vendors are available all over to provide snacks and refreshments.
It is said that Guilin's landscape is the best in the world, and Yangshuo's scenery is the best in Guilin. The beautiful landscapes everywhere in Yangshuo can make visitors intoxicated and feel like they are floating in the air. Even the countryside is so beautiful. I really like this place.
