First of all, Hemu in Altay has become very popular in recent years, so it's definitely worth a visit. To be honest, the reservation system for the scenic area isn't very user-friendly in winter, but the scenery is still worth the trip.
There's not much to see or do at the Hemu Scenic Area, so I wouldn't recommend going. However, the scenery along the way is truly beautiful. The scenic area itself is rather lackluster and heavily commercialized. The food isn't particularly amazing either, although the cold-water fish is good. There's one restaurant that serves exceptionally authentic Sichuan cuisine.

I think this attraction is best enjoyed at sunset. It's too sunny during the day! Actually, you don't need to get off at every attraction; you can choose which ones to visit at a faster pace. I didn't watch the sunset and left the park early!
It's very sunny! Be sure to wear sunscreen. If you don't collect stones, the entire tour takes about forty minutes. One ride on the little train is enough.

It was my first time to Xinjiang, and I was so surprised at Jiangjun Mountain. There were handsome guys helping me carry my snowboard when I got on and off the cable car. I never had to do it myself! Because I had to go back and forth to the top of the mountain for filming, I bought a three-day ticket. I skied in the afternoon and took pictures of the sunset in the evening. It was very tiring but also beautiful. I couldn't ski at night, so I had to take the cable car down the mountain after taking pictures. Golden Avenue, we will see you again

The first lake I visited on my Northern Xinjiang mini-loop, about 30 kilometers off the S21 Awu Expressway heading towards Altay. The lake is beautiful, but poorly maintained. The various water activities around the lake, including speedboats and motorboats, and the high-powered speakers, were incompatible with the quiet beauty of the desert lake and quite ruined the atmosphere.

The snow quality is good, the scenery is beautiful, and there are many tracks. Except for the long way up the mountain, everything else is really good! The ski school is not expensive, and it’s so fun to ski! In addition, the food here is not bad! There is a cafe in each cable car area where you can rest, and you can also come and experience it if you don’t want to ski!
I went there in early November when skiing started. It was snowing hard for a week. 1900m is the destination for the bus. Here we take the cable car to 2200m, which is the ski service-ski equipment hall. Then you can rent equipment and hire a coach. The second floor is the restaurant. There are cafes at 2500m and 3100m of the red cable and 2900m of the gray cable, where you can take a short break and the scenery is also very good. I hired a coach once, which was also very good. The cable car was stuck on the road for half an hour, so I made up for the class. The entry-level teaching is very good.
However, in the blizzard, due to the heavy wind and snow on the top of the mountain, only the yellow cable and the red cable were opened for 2500m in the next few days, so the ski resort experience was reduced. This ski resort service needs to be improved.

The Ahe Highway is truly breathtaking. From Altay to Hemu, the scenery is breathtaking, and even the sight of sheep is truly breathtaking!
There's even a map of China on the mountain, with a staff member writing on it: "I love China."
You don't know how vast China is until you've been to Xinjiang, and you don't know how vast the scenery is until you've traveled the Ahe Highway!
The Ahe Highway is undoubtedly the "golden route" for self-driving tours in Northern Xinjiang by 2025 and is well worth a visit! This 209.45-kilometer highway connects diverse landscapes such as snow-capped mountains, grasslands, forests, and wetlands. Hemu Viewing Platform, also known as Haden Viewing Platform or Genghis Khan's Command Post, is located in Hemu Village, Burqin County, Altay Prefecture, Xinjiang. It is the highest point in the village, offering panoramic views. It's an excellent spot for watching the sunrise and morning mist, and also great for astrophotography. From Hemu Bridge, it takes about 20-40 minutes to walk to the top along the boardwalk, or you can choose to ride a horse or a horse-drawn sleigh. Karamay means "black oil" in Uyghur, so this natural petroleum asphalt hill is named Black Oil Mountain. This black asphalt mountain and the oil buried underground have been sleeping here for hundreds of millions of years. Due to crustal movement, underground oil is affected by stratum pressure and continuously seeps to the surface along rock cracks. The light part of the oil evaporates, and the remaining thick liquid condenses with sand to form this Black Oil Mountain.
Black Oil Mountain is a Triassic oil outcrop of Karamay Oilfield. It is a group of asphalt hills formed by the long-term spillage of crude oil. The largest one is 13 meters high and covers an area of 0.2 square kilometers. The oil quality of Black Oil Mountain is precious low-condensation oil. According to geologists' predictions, Black Oil Mountain has begun to spill oil as early as 200 million years ago.
