I’m so glad I found this place wandering around Kakaako. It so reminded me of a place I ate at on the north of the Big Island 10 years ago. It really has that more authentic Hawaiian vibe and made me feel I was no longer in the city.
It is said to be a food unique to Hawaii, called puka, which is similar to Japanese seafood rice. It is topped with a lot of marinated tuna and the rice inside is seaweed rice. It tastes delicious. There are three flavors in total.

The food is delicious, we highly recommend the plate D. It includes the ribs, pulled kalua pork, luau chicken, and the salmon. We loved the marinated ribs the are thinly sliced pieces of pork shoulder that are flavored with soy and slightly sweet. The kalua pork has a the flavor of the tara leaves and is very moist and delicious. The luau chicken is green!
The restaurant by the sea is super comfortable. You can sit outdoors and enjoy the sea breeze. There is an awning above, so you won’t be exposed to the sun at all. You can see the beautiful sea and eat delicious ice cream. It’s really enjoyable.

RED LOBSTER, the buns I missed so much were not as delicious as I remembered. The lobster meat was really plump.
