Hiking up Tian Du Peak was tough; there was no cell phone signal, and the only sounds we heard were strangers encouraging each other. The path was incredibly steep and treacherous. We had to use both hands and feet to climb up, and then we had to crawl down on the ground. Thanks to the experienced hikers who guided us! Every picture of the scenery is wallpaper material.
There were so many people. I suggest we learn from Zhejiang and set up volunteer services, such as having volunteers to manage the photo spots or having signs promoting civilized behavior by queuing up in line.

The day before heading to Huangshan, I stayed in Hongcun. Hongcun is a typical representative of southern Anhui regional culture, with over 140 existing Ming and Qing dynasty residences, such as Chengzhitang and Nanhu Academy. Its Hui-style architecture is renowned for its white walls, black tiles, horse-head gables, and exquisite carvings. Nanhu Lake and Moon Pond are popular spots for taking photos. Hongcun's alleys are narrow, with most passageways barely wide enough for two people to walk side-by-side. The alleys are filled with commercial stalls, and electric bikes and tricycles weave through, making it both crowded and unsafe. The 94 yuan entrance fee is not worth the price.
Based on recommendations from online friends, we specifically chose this attraction for our trip. Overall, we had a fantastic experience. The scenic area was beautiful, the air was fresh, the service was excellent, and the facilities were comprehensive. We will definitely recommend it to our friends. We are extremely satisfied with this attraction and give it a five-star rating.

There's a distance between Xidi and Hongcun; you can take a bus or taxi. Xidi is mainly for viewing Hui-style architecture, while Hongcun is more commercialized. You can enjoy the fish lantern show at night, but it's said that the show won't be held if it rains.
We spent nearly four hours exploring Xidi, hiring a guide to learn about several prominent families and the rich cultural atmosphere. Finally, we climbed to the viewing platform, where we could see the entire ancient village of Xidi.

Compared to Hongcun, Chengkan is indeed quieter, more rustic, and less crowded. There's an entrance fee and good food, which helps to keep out some of the crowds, but because Chengkan is small and not very famous, it doesn't attract many people.
I love this place so much! During the off-season, as long as you get up early, you can take photos of Bagua Gate without anyone in them. If you stay inside the scenic area, you can just renew your ticket at the ticket counter every day. The energy is strong, the feng shui is good, and you don't have to worry about food or drink.

I bought a combined ticket for Qiyun Mountain and Xidi through Ctrip, which was very affordable and cheaper than buying them separately. Qiyun Mountain is an old, well-established ancient village, quite commercialized and developed. Xidi has a deeper historical and cultural heritage, but it's not as photogenic.
The scenery at Qiyun Mountain, including Dengfeng Bridge, Nine Miles and Thirteen Pavilions, First Heaven Gate, Second Heaven Gate, Third Heaven Gate, Yuehua Street, Yuxu Palace, and Xiaohutian, is exceptionally beautiful. The cultural relics and historical sites are also captivating, making it highly recommended.

It's a very lively scenic area. The outside is free, but it's become quite commercialized. You need to buy a ticket to enter the government office (州衙). Inside, you can climb the city walls and see the gardens. The government office itself is quite nice, and there are even court trial performances, so it's worth watching.
The ancient city of Huizhou is free, but the government office (including the city walls) within the ancient city requires an entrance fee, though it's still worth a visit. The Huizhou Merchants' Mansion is not located within the ancient city and is a man-made attraction. According to the map at the entrance, it's a collection of 29 scattered folk buildings. If you're not interested in the Huizhou Merchants' Mansion, you can skip the combined ticket and just buy the government office ticket.

Huangshan Huixiu is a performing arts city jointly invested and built by Zhejiang Show Performing Arts Group and Huangshan Tourism Development Co., Ltd. It integrates theme performances, sightseeing and leisure, parent-child entertainment, catering, tourism and shopping. It showcases the natural beauty and cultural charm of Huizhou with three theme spaces: the large-scale tourist performance "Huixiu", the "Twelve Hours of Huizhou" on Shijing Street, and Neon Street.
Good reviews, good reviews, this venue is great! The space is bright, the facilities are brand new and complete, and the hygiene is spotless. The staff is enthusiastic and professional, and the response is timely. The experience is full, highly recommended!

Luckily, I checked the travel guide a day in advance and decided to take a taxi to the West Gate to enter. This way, you only need to climb a bit at the beginning, and then it's all downhill. Perhaps because it's autumn, it wasn't as green as I had imagined. The food in Mukeng Village was quite good; everything was grown and raised by the locals, and it tasted like something from my childhood.
The ancient village is quite good. The rice fields at the entrance of the village are like a small maze. Children are reluctant to leave when they are walking around in it. The commercialization level is average. The fish lantern parade allows tourists to participate, which is very interesting.

I was truly amazed by Xixinan!! More pristine than Hongcun, more tranquil than Xidi, and best of all, it's free! Discovering this verdant wonderland at the foot of Huangshan Mountain feels like stepping into a poetic painting of ancient Huizhou.
Xixinan Village in Huangshan City is located in Xixinan Town, Tunxi District, Huangshan City. The Hangzhou-Huangshan High-Speed Railway and the Hefei-Fuzhou High-Speed Railway cross the border through the village, making it the closest ancient village to a high-speed rail station in Huangshan City and even in the entire province of Anhui. Although Huangshan North High-Speed Railway Station has been open for ten years, the village still retains its pristine environment, permeated with a quaint atmosphere and a secluded charm. Xixinan Ancient Village is a great first or last stop on a trip to Huangshan, offering a truly authentic and pristine Huizhou experience. Shanyejun shares some simple travel tips for Xixinan Ancient Village for your reference! 1. Tickets: Xixinan still has many villagers living there, and commercial development is relatively underdeveloped, so there's currently no entrance fee. 2. Visiting Season: Late spring, summer, and autumn are the most beautiful seasons in Xixinan. In late spring, in late March, you can admire fields of rapeseed blossoms. In summer, you can enjoy a Wizard of Oz-like atmosphere and sea of clouds. Autumn is truly a dazzling spectacle. 3. Accommodation: Xixinan is currently not very commercially open, so there are only a few B&Bs and farmhouse inns to choose from. However, nearby Changlin Village offers dozens of inns. 4. Dining: The village offers numerous farmhouse restaurants and farmhouse inns, all serving authentic Anhui cuisine at very reasonable prices. Many restaurants offer prices under 50 yuan per person, so dining in Xixinan Village is a good option. 5. Transportation: The Huangshan Tourist Bus runs through Xixinan from Huangshan North Station, Shexian North Station, and Shexian City. Fares are based on distance, for example, a ticket from Huangshan North Station to Xixinan costs 4 yuan. Huangshan North Station is about 5 kilometers away from Xixinan. If you like hiking or have good physical strength, you can try hiking from Huangshan North Station to Xixinan Ancient Village and back. Along the way, you can see the high-speed rail passing by. The interesting scene of the high-speed rail entering the ancient village is very interesting.
