It is a mountain that is recommended to climb in the eastern Hubei region. It is free to enter the scenic area. If you are physically fit, the scenery along the way is worth climbing. If you are with children, you can take the scenic area tour bus or watch the immersive experience performance, which requires additional tickets.
It is more cost-effective to buy a package ticket. The scenic area is divided into two sections, and the fees are charged separately. Dongfang Mountain is free, but you need to buy a ticket to enter the Dongchang Pavilion on the mountain. Dongchang Pavilion has a total of nine floors, and several of them are not open at present. There is an observation deck on the eighth floor, where you can see the downtown area of Huangshi. Going up from the tourist center, you will pass a camping area with a check-in and photo-taking spot. This section of the road is relatively flat and easy to walk.

The scenery is still very good, but there are some facilities that charge a second fee, which is extremely low cost-effective and is not recommended. In addition, we went there too late, and we did not get off the boat at some attractions and returned directly.
We chose the west route, visited two islands, tried glass rafting and crossed the river on a bamboo raft. When we were on the deck, the wind made me dizzy. Overall, there were few people and the scenery was beautiful. It would be better if there were more specialty shops in the scenic area.

Exploring the mines is incredibly tiring. The straight up and down stairs are not very user-friendly for elderly people and children with limited stamina, and it's damp and dark down there. We suggest redeveloping the mines by installing an elevator and connecting it to a mine train. Missions could be completed underground, such as promoting safe mining practices, while also allowing visitors to experience the mines.
While this will increase costs, such renovations have boosted its popularity and made it suitable for use as an educational center for elementary and middle school students. With a modest price increase, I believe more people will be willing to bring their children for a taste of the mines.
You can see the big mine pits and large mining machinery of that year, which are rare to see. Going underground for prospecting should be done within your ability. Don't force yourself if you can't bear it. Going up the stairs is very strenuous, but the experience is very good.
