Fangshan Park in Tangshan, Jiangning is one of the parks of Tangshan and Fangshan National Geopark. Fangshan is one of the scenic spots in Jinling. It is called Tianyin Fangshan because of its unique mountain shape.
Fangshan is a volcano that erupted 10 million years ago and preserves various rocks that erupted. It is a typical representative of volcanoes that erupted in the same period in eastern China.
Fangshan has two entrances in the north and west, with more than 30 scenic spots such as Eighteen Bends, Tianyin Palace, Laoshilongchi, Dinglin Temple, Dinglin Inclined Tower, and Ziwu Vegetable Garden. Fangshan, with volcanic eruption relics everywhere, has now become a national geological park that integrates the characteristics of mountains, green forests, strange stones, strange towers, and ancient temples.
The famous Dinglin Temple Pagoda is located at the northern foot of Fangshan. It was built in the Southern Song Dynasty and is an affiliated building of Dinglin Temple. It has a history of more than 830 years. The tower is a seven-story, eight-sided imitation wood structure pavilion, about 13 meters high, and this tower is dedicated to Buddha statues. The tower has a beautiful shape, fine carvings, and is unique. Dinglin Temple Pagoda is currently the oldest pavilion-style hard pagoda in Nanjing and is listed as a provincial cultural relic protection unit.
