An unexpected bonus was meeting many cats at the zoo, which added a lot of fun. Some of them were so thin and bony; it broke my heart. I hope the zoo can have compassion and give these little creatures, who are struggling to survive the winter, more care. We are willing to support any crowdfunding efforts needed. Thank you.
This is a must-see spot in Taiyuan. I went in early November, and the autumn colors were absolutely stunning. You can take your time to appreciate the scenery, explore at your own pace, and even visit the park outside. You could easily dedicate a whole day to it; half a day would be too rushed.

This is my second time here, this time with my three-year-old. Since we've never seen such a large beach before, we had a lot of fun. However, for adults, the other activities are all paid, so the value for money isn't quite right.
Today, Ordos is increasingly green, and it's rare to find such a small patch of desert left for tourists to experience. There are plenty of recreational activities, and the service is generally good. My summer trip was long ago, but the dark clouds and lightning over the desert during the thunderstorms remain vividly in my memory.

Yanmen Pass is definitely worth a visit. I visited the Badaling Great Wall many years ago, and the experience was different. The day I went, the fog was quite thick, so visibility was limited. Also, I arrived rather late, so I didn't explore too far, but the early winter scenery was still beautiful. The difficulty of the climb further highlights the hardships endured by the ancient soldiers, and it makes one marvel at the wisdom of the ancients in building this magnificent pass.
The Yanmen Pass Scenic Area is absolutely worth a visit. If you go to Xinzhou, you must go to Yanmen Pass, climb the Great Wall, go up to the watchtower, and see the rolling mountains inside and outside the pass. Experience the charm of the First Pass of China. There is a direct bus from Xinzhou Ancient City to the Yanmen Pass Scenic Area, which goes directly to the North Gate of the scenic area.

It's alright. The Taiyuan Botanical Garden is quite well-built and large. You need to take a shuttle bus, and parking is convenient. The lights are even more beautiful at night.
Early winter was the perfect time to visit; the temperature was just right, and there wasn't an unbearable temperature difference between indoors and outdoors. I was very satisfied! The orchids were fantastic, and the cacti were large and adorable. I loved them.

It's currently the off-season for tourism, and the Prince Dai's Mansion is offering a three-day unlimited entry health check. A one-zhang (approximately 3.3 meters) ticket was valid for two nights. The evening performances are highly recommended; the dance performances and folk costume displays are excellent. The iron-smelting performance, in particular, is a breathtaking experience, allowing visitors to witness this intangible cultural heritage firsthand. It's beautiful, vibrant, and captivating. 👍👍👍
I went there to see the sparks; seeing them live was amazing, especially since it was my first time! 🥰 I explored the place during the day first, and there was a lady offering free guided tours, which were fantastic. I really enjoyed it and learned a lot. 👍

Perhaps because of the rain, there weren't many people. It's a small ancient town with almost no interactive activities. There were only a few shows, which weren't as good as the online reviews suggested. The food at the small shops was expensive and mediocre. More importantly, while it's a half-hour taxi ride there, it took ages to get back. I finally managed to get a shared ride, but they wouldn't even charge extra. Transportation is inconvenient. The 98 yuan entrance fee only covered the night view.
I love this place so much! I haven't had enough fun this time. The ancient buildings and museums are amazing. I learned a lot and experienced the life of the Republic of China... There are also various snacks and treasures.

Hongtong Big Pagoda Tree Scenic Area, a 5A-level scenic spot, is very large once you enter. The service is excellent, the staff are very welcoming, and the scenic area is a lot of fun. I recommend everyone to come and trace your roots and pay homage to your ancestors.
The service at the Big Locust Tree Scenic Area was thoughtful and attentive, the immersive performances showcased the rich cultural heritage of our ancestors, and the interactions with the NPCs were lively and engaging. This journey to find our roots was a truly enriching experience and well worth it!

The sunset is beautiful, the alpine grassland is stunning, the scenic area is very convenient to drive by, the ticket is still a bit expensive, the scenery is still better in summer. Navigate to Tianci Grassland and drive all the way up. When you see the sign of Sky Grassland, go a little higher and you can watch the sunset. Remember to bring a down jacket
When Master Zhang contacted us one day in advance, he would tell us what you wanted to know. Thanks to Master Zhang's foresight, we successfully avoided the traffic jam. After the trip, the local food recommended by Master Zhang was also very good. Chartering a car really gives you a lot of freedom.

There is a manual explanation, the fee is 50, you can see the exhibition on the ground and go underground to visit the mining process, the cost-effectiveness is high, you can learn about coal mines, it is worth recommending! ! ! ! !
Shanxi, a major coal-producing province, has a dedicated museum, which is great, but it feels a bit underwhelming. The museum looks like it's preparing for a commercial trade show, making it bustling. The entrance has been pushed to the side, which I found a bit strange. After entering, I asked for a tour guide, and the professionalism was quite good. The guide was good. There's also an elevator that goes down to the mines, and the exhibits on coal mining from ancient times to the present day are quite good. It fully satisfied my curiosity. The exhibition halls offer detailed information on coal types, and there are also coal-based artifacts that I found quite novel. Overall, I feel like there's room for further exploration of coal. After the tour of the coal process, the museum transitioned to a special topic on Shanxi murals, which felt like a crossover and a bit overwhelming.
