Kumamoto Castle is full of ingenuity. In my mind, the castle ruins are truly magnificent.

Most astonishing are the piles of stones beneath the walls. They were rolled down during the Kumamoto earthquake. While progress is slow, they will one day be rebuilt.

The environment is nice, clean and tidy, with an antique feel. However, it has been almost ten years since the earthquake. The building was not repaired the last time I went there, and there was no significant progress this time. It is still a long way to go before it is repaired. I guess it is very difficult to repair ancient buildings, and there is no way to fix it.

Despite some areas of the caster were still under repair due to the earthquake some years ago, the repair for the major part of the castle had been completed.  It is anice place to go, especially in Spring.

Kumamoto Castle (くまもとじょう) is located in the Chuo District of Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. It is also known as Ginkgo Castle and is one of the famous attractions in Japan. The &quot;Kumamoto Castle Ruins&quot; has been designated as a national special historical site, and 13 buildings such as turrets, gates, and walls have been designated as national important cultural properties. Together with Osaka Castle and Nagoya Castle, it is known as the three famous castles in Japan. When Kato Kiyomasa built this castle, he considered that there would be a need for food supply in the city during a siege, so he planted ginkgo trees to store food for war preparations, so it is also called Ginkgo Castle.
Kumamoto Castle was built by the famous general Kato Kiyomasa with seven years of hard work. Its predecessor was the Kumamoto Castle in the Muromachi period. It covers an area of ​​980,000 square meters and is a representative building of the Azuchi-Momoyama period. Most of the buildings in Kumamoto Castle were burned down during the Southwest War in 1877 (the 10th year of the Meiji era), and the existing buildings were rebuilt in succession starting in 1960 (the 35th year of the Showa era).

The ticket to Kumamoto Castle is 800 yen. I didn&#39;t plan to go in, I just wanted to check in outside, but I didn&#39;t expect that I didn&#39;t plan well, and I couldn&#39;t find a good photo position outside, so I had to buy a ticket and go in.

It was really tiring to visit Kumamoto Castle on a hot day. The section from the ticket office to the castle tower was completely exposed to the sun. Although the castle tower has an elevator, ordinary tourists climb it by themselves. Inside the castle tower are some introductions to attractions and history, which we foreigners can&#39;t understand. Upstairs is an indoor observation deck, and there is nothing to see.

For me, it is a tourist attraction.
