Autumn at the Longji Rice Terraces is a palette of colors overturned by heaven. Layers of golden color spread from the foot of the mountain to the clouds. The terraces shimmer like dragon scales, winding through the mountains.
I came to Guangxi and visited 3 cities, Nanning, Guilin, and Yangshuo. The most recommended places are Longji Rice Terraces and Ping'an Village. The recommended month is September, which is the off-season. The price is affordable, there is a direct bus to the scenic area, which is convenient and all green.

The scenery is stunning, and one ticket covers several terraced fields. The sightseeing bus is unlimited and stops whenever you wave. The staff are very friendly. Aside from the local villagers' restaurants and guesthouses, all other businesses appear to be owned by the scenic area. The service is excellent, and the area isn't overly commercialized. It's also relatively quiet, making it a very comfortable experience. The only downside is that some teenagers are racing motorcycles in the area at night, which is noisy and unsafe.
The scenic area is beautiful, the service is good and very humane, the performances of the villagers in Zhaoxing Dong Village are very good, the Jiabang Rice Terraces are really beautiful, especially the No. 1 Observation Deck. It's a pity that we missed the evening fireworks show because the sightseeing bus did not arrive on time. Therefore, we hope that the Jiabang Rice Terraces Scenic Area can pay attention to the scheduling of sightseeing buses. In the morning, some tourists also reported that they waited for nearly an hour at the No. 6 Observation Deck bus stop. As soon as you step into the park, it feels like you have walked into a pink fairy tale world. There is nothing particularly special in the Zhaoxing Dong Village. It is much smaller than the Qianhu Miao Village, and there are not many places to visit. However, I went to the Tang'an Terraces on the mountain at sunset. I was amazed and took a lot of great photos!
Zhaoxing Dong Village is full of local characteristics. The attractions are relatively small and you can explore them all by renting a small electric vehicle. There are also many foods to eat and many tie-dye shops where you can experience them with your children.

While climbing the mountain, the weather was bad and it was raining, but the cable car was running normally. From the cable car, I could see clouds and mist lingering over the mountains. After coming down the mountain, there was free ginger water available nearby. After feeling the cold and humidity on the mountain, drinking a cup of ginger water really warmed my stomach, body, and heart!

There were so many people traveling this summer. My personal worst experience was the sheer number of photographers. They were hogging the photo booths, which is understandable if you're doing business, but it's wrong to think the place is yours. Everyone's buying tickets to get in, so why shouldn't you, the photographers, let the tourists take photos? Did you pay the scenic spot a fee for hogging the booths?
It's certainly commercialized, feeling like a hodgepodge of businesses, with all sorts of shops, mostly for travel photography, hotels, and restaurants. But while business is business, it's not as bad as people say online. It's worth a visit, mainly to see the Miao architecture, experience the ethnic minority culture, and try the local cuisine. The night view is stunning, with thousands of lights, reminiscent of a scene from Spirited Away. It's photogenic, no wonder so many people wear Miao clothing for photos. It's truly beautiful, but a single visit is enough. Entrance fees aren't expensive compared to many scenic spots nationwide, so I recommend staying inside. Accommodation in a room with a view is more expensive, with standard rooms still costing around 100-200 RMB. However, I recommend getting one with a view; the night view is truly stunning. Cars aren't allowed inside the scenic area, so if you're staying there, don't bring too much luggage. The roads are hilly and difficult to climb. It's better if the hotel can help with your luggage. Hotels generally don't have elevators, so you have to climb stairs, which can be very uncomfortable, especially with a suitcase. As for the food, many people might not be used to the sour soup, which tastes like mountain pepper oil and contains zheergen (Houttuynia cordata). However, black pork skewers and rice noodles are more palatable. I recommend buying a scenic bus ticket, which costs 5 yuan per trip. The combined ticket, which comes with the entrance fee, is 110 yuan, allowing you to ride the bus four times per person: two round trips to the North Gate and two round trips to Observation Deck No. 1 at the West Gate. It's a bit far to walk with luggage. I wouldn't recommend the "Beautiful Xijiang" performance inside the scenic area. They sell calligraphy and paintings, and the show isn't particularly impressive. It's a bit pricey: 190 yuan for VIP, but 170 yuan for locals. In summary, the scenic area is worth a visit, mainly to see the Miao village architecture and culture. The night view is stunning, a must-see!
