It was a lonely stroll. The pandas all hid behind the glass to enjoy the air conditioning, so I could only see them through the glass. There were also so many people that I spent most of the time walking around in circles outside and couldn't see the pandas at all. The environment was still pretty good at some point.
Families, don't miss the Giant Panda Breeding Base when you visit Chengdu!
Entering the base, you're greeted by a lush greenery and fresh air, feeling like you've stepped into the pandas' natural home. The grounds are enormous, offering ample space for the pandas to roam freely. The living quarters are incredibly comfortable, reminiscent of their natural habitat.
There are a surprising number of pandas here, representing all ages. Early in the morning, we spotted many pandas at work. Some feasted on bamboo, their cheeks puffing out; others strolled leisurely across the grass; and still others played playfully on the climbing frames, their chubby faces captivating everyone. The red panda enclosure is also incredibly fun, with the adorable, reddish-brown creatures darting about the trees.
The base also offers excellent educational opportunities, including a museum and a science center, offering insights into pandas' habits, breeding practices, and conservation status. The staff and volunteers are incredibly welcoming and patiently answer any questions.
The cultural and creative shop also has a wide selection of goods, including incredibly cute and exquisitely crafted panda merchandise. I bought tons of them as souvenirs.
The only caveat is that the area is packed with tourists, so it's best to leave early and head straight for popular areas like the Moon Delivery Room as soon as it opens. This way, you'll have an easier time seeing the adorable pandas! I highly recommend it; it's totally worth the trip!

I heard that it is difficult to book tickets for Sanxingdui, so I never thought about going there. Not long ago, they held an exhibition of Sanxingdui at the Beijing Capital Museum. I went to see it and found that the Large Standing Man was not the real thing, but a smaller version. So I decided to come to Sanxingdui to see it in person. The tickets for Sanxingdui are quite easy to buy. The exhibits are very exquisite and the craftsmanship is very complicated. I wonder how they did it thousands of years ago. I won’t say much here. If you are interested, you should go to the scene to experience it in person.
The explanation was very detailed and patient, but the overall duration exceeded the original time limit. Sanxingdui still needs an explanation; it would be completely confusing if I were to read it on my own.

🌿Du Fu Thatched Cottage | A Quiet Corner in a Bustling City
"West of Wanli Bridge stands a thatched cottage, and the waters of Baihua Pond are like waves." The Du Fu Thatched Cottage Museum is located on the banks of Chengdu's Huanhua Creek, west of Wanli Bridge. Du Fu lived here for four years, the most peaceful years of his later life. During these years, he penned over 240 beloved poems. "I wish I had a thousand mansions, to shelter all the poor and bring joy to their faces" is undoubtedly the most iconic line from Du Fu's Thatched Cottage.
PS: If you're visiting with children, you'll definitely need a tour guide who can explain Du Fu's life story, his friendships with his friends, and his profound understanding of his personality and the influence of contemporary society on his poetry.
I thought Du Fu's Thatched Cottage was small, but it turned out to be incredibly large. I couldn't find the exit in the end. 😁
The thatched cottage described in the poem "The Thatched Cottage Broken by the Autumn Wind," the stone statue of Du Fu, his friendship with Li Bai, and the charming garden are well worth a visit.

A friend recommended me to go to Jinsha to learn about the history of the Shang Dynasty. I invited Mr. Yuan to explain it to us. He not only taught us about Jinsha, but also extended a lot of other knowledge to us.

This suggests the site's management is somewhat shoddy. Visitors to the ruins felt like they were in a sauna, and the explanations were difficult to follow, leaving a less than pleasant experience. The museum is 30% visual and 70% lecturing. There are no official tour guides, but instead, tour guides from travel agencies lead group tours. Honestly, the explanations are quite average.

This is probably what folk performances used to be like. Enjoy some light refreshments, a cup of tea, and some sunflower seeds—a simple and enjoyable way to entertain yourself.
I went to Chengdu to experience Sichuan Opera. The overall feeling was average. The venue and costumes were a bit old. My favorite parts were the face-changing performances and the rubber band lighting. There was a very beautiful girl with dimples when she smiled.

The Chengdu Museum is still worth a visit. It helps to understand the history of Chengdu. The teacher explained it in detail for 3 hours without a break. Fortunately, I found a teacher, otherwise it would be too late to see it by myself.
Guide Yang's explanation was wonderful, well-versed in history and the present, and full of positive energy. You can feel her love for this city from her words. I will arrange for a big-name speaker next time I come.

Baidicheng is best visited with a guide. We explored it on our own, and with the elderly and children in tow, we didn't get much out of the experience.
If you're not physically fit, it's best not to take the ferry to the summit of the Three Gorges, as it takes about two hours. It's also a good idea to just buy a ticket to Baidicheng and explore the park.
Baidi City, that famous spot where you can check in to "leave Baidi in the morning amidst the colorful clouds"! Even Li Bai couldn't resist praising it in a poem. Let's just say—the scenery is so stunning that even a passing immortal would stop and post a message! While climbing the stairs, I recommend silently chanting "The light boat has passed through ten thousand mountains" to cheer yourself up. After all, when your legs are shaking, you'll realize how much the poet's romance hurts your knees. 😂 (Friendly reminder: wear sneakers, bring a power bank, and remember to check the filter after taking photos to see if it's ethereal enough.)

This is a very nice B&B. The owner was very welcoming. Seeing we were traveling with children, he upgraded us to a family room. He also recommended good restaurants. The room was very nice, spacious and bright, clean and hygienic, and all toiletries were provided. Although it faces the street, the soundproofing was excellent and didn't affect our rest at all. I would definitely stay here again if I ever visit Libo.
