I had a fabulous trek into Bako National Park, even though the weather didn’t fully cooperate. It was raining when I arrived, so unfortunately I didn’t get to see much wildlife along the trails but just as I made my way back to the base, I was lucky enough to spot one of Bako’s famous residents: the bearded pig!Getting there was an adventure in itself. I took a cab straight from my hotel to the Bako terminal to register. I felt super lucky because, as I arrived, I found a group of friendly strangers who had one slot left on their boat. Sharing with them saved me a lot of money, I only paid RM 40 for the round-trip boat ride instead of having to pay the full RM 200 if you don’t find anyone to share with. So if you’re planning to go solo, try to team up with other travelers at the terminal, it’s a great way to save some ringgit and meet new people!Once I got there, the rain had just stopped, so I decided to hike up Telok Pandan Besar and Telok Pandan Kecil. The first part of the trail was quite challenging, with steep slopes that really gave my legs a workout. But the views and the sense of adventure made it totally worth it.If you ever come to Kuching, I definitely recommend setting aside a day for Bako National Park. It’s such a unique place — you’ll feel like you’re stepping into another world of dense jungle, hidden beaches, and the chance to spot amazing wildlife.
Had a fabulous trek into Bako National park and we got to see lots of different animals and creatures including the elusive Proboscis Monkey which I got an awesome video of. Green vipers everywhere! Flying Lemurs, spiders amongst other things. I’d say you need to be quite able to navigate the trek up and down the thick tree roots but overall, a welcome relief from the city to get into the forest and it isn’t too hard work.

"Kampung Budaya Sarawak: A Malaysian’s Honest Take! 🌿🏕️"Expectation: "Wah, like Disneyland but with longhouses!"Reality: More "living museum" than theme park—authentic but sleepy. Loved the cultural shows (ngajat dances = fire!), but some exhibits felt slightly "abandoned zoo vibes". The longhouse stay was cool (mosquitoes included for free 🦟), and the kek lapis workshop saved the trip. Pro tip: Go during the Rainforest World Music Festival—that’s when this place truly hidup! Verdict? "Wor
Sarawak Cultural Village, also known as Kampung Budaya, is a must-visit for anyone wanting to experience the rich cultural heritage of Sarawak in one place. Set against the backdrop of Mount Santubong, this living museum beautifully showcases traditional houses from various ethnic groups including Iban, Bidayuh, Orang Ulu, and more. Each house offers a glimpse into daily life, complete with crafts, music, and interactive demonstrations. The cultural dance performance is a definite highlight

Thank you, Damai Beach resort for a lovely few days.Wish we had longer there,Yes, a few things need fixing up, but did not bother us.The room was lovely, very spacious ,clean, and the bed was very comfy. The food was good, plenty of choice. The staff was lovely and friendly,All ways had a smile for us.Yes, there is rules, but after reading them, I could understand why they have them , none of them I would do while on holiday so no worries there.Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Serenity by the Sarawak: My Morning Escape at Kuching WaterfrontEnjoyed a lovely late morning stroll along the Sarawak River with beautiful views of the legislative assembly building. The area was quiet and relaxing with few people around - perfect for some peaceful downtime. Appreciated the benches under shady trees where you can sit and enjoy the cool river breeze. A simple but pleasant way to experience Kuching's riverside charm without crowds. Great spot for: - Leisurely walks - Quiet contemplation - Enjoying river views - Escaping the city bustle No frills, just a nice public space by the water. Ideal for travelers looking for a calm moment in between sightseeing. --- Note: Visit in morning/evening for best temperatures
Second times here..best place to go with family, enjoy the view, food and atmosphere..

Really excellent museum, far exceeding my expectations!!
Kuching Cat Museum ~ A must-visit for experienced cat lovers!!! Many guides said it was free, but it is not anymore! We paid RM8 for two adults and one child! I was very excited! All information about cats is collected here. It can be said that it is a good place for cat lovers from all over the world to gather and study cats! When I got here, I took photos and recorded videos with my mobile phone camera, and I couldn't stop at all! My hands and eyes were not enough! I just wanted to record every bit of this place! I work hard to increase the number of my collections!
