In the Jiangnan water town of Shaoxing, the Keyan Scenic Area is a picturesque spot. The entire area encompasses Keyan Scenic Area, Jianhu Lake, and Lu Town.
Entering Keyan, the striking sight is the 20.8-meter-tall Tiangong Giant Buddha, a seated Maitreya Buddha. Crafted by three generations of Sui Dynasty stonemasons over a century, the statue is constructed entirely of stone. With his left hand resting on his knee and his right raised in the "Dharma Seal," his expression of compassion seems to soothe the troubles of the world. Contrasting the Tiangong Giant Buddha is Yungu, the "world's finest stone." From a distance, it resembles a wisp of smoke rising into the sky, its unique form showcasing the wonders of nature.
The ancient towpath on Jianhu Lake resembles a jade belt floating on the waves, carving the surface of the lake into a long, ink-wash scroll. Riding aboard a black-sailed boat, the boatwoman paddling with her feet, the boatwoman's leisurely pace evokes a few egrets, their wings brushing against the reeds. One feels transported to the scene described in Wang Xizhi's "Preface to the Lanting Anthology": "The sky is clear, the air is fresh, and the breeze is gentle." Lu Town, on the other hand, vividly recreates the scenes of life described by Lu Xun. The wine jars at the Xianheng Hotel are still neatly arranged. The blue-brick alleys are deep and quiet, with old shops scattered around in an orderly manner. A rich atmosphere of history and cultural charm permeates the area.

Upon entering the scenic area, the first thing you'll encounter is the "Flying Waterfall Canyon" area. The canyon walls are steep, and streams cascade down from above, creating a cascading mist that provides a lasting coolness against the scorching summer heat. Photographers can capture the misty light and the splashing water, while children can also splash in the water for a refreshing summer treat. At Big Buddha Rock, the natural rock face resembles a carved Buddha statue, its face lifelike. Legend has it that worshippers have visited the rock since ancient times. An offering area and an observation deck overlook the canyon's springs are located in front of the rock, offering views of the canyon's springs. At Thousand Buddha Rock, the rock face is dotted with small shrines, housing hundreds of rock Buddha statues. On a summer afternoon, the setting sun filters through the rocks, revealing the lush green moss in the cracks, creating a unique and spiritual atmosphere. The "Immortal Bridge" is a natural stone arch bridge, with the canyon water flowing beneath it, and vines draped on both sides. Jiezhu Lecture Temple was originally the residence of Wang Xizhi. It is said that the Goose Pond and the Ink Pond are the remains of his brush washing. The name of the temple comes from the allusion of Wang Xizhi's confession of Jiezhu. The former residence of Mr. Cai Yuanpei, a leading figure in the academic world, is also located here. It has a profound historical and cultural heritage and a strong Jiangnan water village style. It is famous for the relics of celebrities such as Wang Xizhi and Cai Yuanpei, and it retains the original Jiangnan water village style.
