Xianghai Nature Reserve is located in Xinglongshan Town, Xianghai Township, Tongyu County, Jilin Province, covering an area of about 100,000 hectares, of which 60% is water. It was opened in 1981, promoted to national level in 1986, and listed in the World Important Wetland List in 1992. It is now a national 4A-level scenic spot. The main protected objects in the reserve are ten first-level protected animals and rare birds such as red-crowned cranes, white storks, and great bustards, as well as a large number of second-level animals.
