Since the opening of the sea in August, the wind has been blowing in from the East China Sea, carrying the aroma of seafood with it, and my soul is wandering with it 🙂 ↔️ From Taizhou and Ningbo all the way to Wenzhou, my food travel map 🗺️ is marked by my taste buds 😋
Today, a local restaurant veteran took me to lunch. While enjoying the beautiful scenery of Jiangxin Island 👀, I savored the taste of "the sea dancing on my plate" 🥢
As for my obsession with Wenzhou flavors 💡
My top pick is definitely the river crab sashimi 🦀, which I've been following from last year to this year. The amazing thing is that each restaurant has a subtle difference in seasoning, but every bite is so fresh it feels like waves in my mouth 🌊 The so-called "bone-penetrating freshness" is the moment you put your lips to it and smack your tongue, and the umami rushes up!
And there are also mantis shrimp 🦀 Wenzhou people understand the philosophy of eating blue crab!
For someone like me who's greedy for food and even more so for eyes, I feel like a rat in a rice jar here (happy fat boy version 😈)
Wenzhou, where seasoning is balanced, the essence is revealed in its lightness. It's not about devouring it raw, but rather about gently letting the soul of the sea settle into your stomach.
