Due to the high altitude, it is easier to see the Matterhorn. Taking reflection photos in Rotenboden requires higher weather conditions. We waited for two hours before we saw it.

The Gornergrat viewing platform at an altitude of 3092 meters is a good choice for a close-up view of the Matterhorn at an altitude of 4478 meters.

From the starting station of the Gornergrat rack railway opposite the Zermatt train station, take the rack railway train, stop at 4 intermediate stations and drive for nearly 35 minutes to reach the terminal station - Gornergrat.
