Overview
• Location: Located in southwest Guizhou Province, 128 kilometers from Guiyang and 45 kilometers from Anshun.
• Scenic Area: Covering a total area of 163 square kilometers, with an average altitude of 900 meters, the Huangguoshu Waterfall is the centerpiece of the scenic area, home to 18 distinct waterfalls, making it the world's largest waterfall complex.
Main Attractions
• Huangguoshu Waterfall: At 77.8 meters high and 101 meters wide, it is the largest waterfall in China and one of the world's most famous. Its Water Curtain Cave, 134 meters long, features six windows and five cave halls, allowing visitors to experience the majestic power of the falls up close. • Doupotang Waterfall: Located 1 km upstream from Huangguoshu Waterfall, the waterfall boasts a crest width of 105 meters and a height of 21 meters, making it the widest waterfall in the Huangguoshu Waterfall complex. It was also a filming location for the 1986 version of "Journey to the West."
• Tianxing Bridge Scenic Area: Approximately 6 km from the Grand Waterfall Scenic Area, it is divided into the Tianxing Bonsai Area, Tianxing Cave Scenic Area, and the Water Stone Forest Area. • Transportation: Take the high-speed rail from Guiyang North Station to Anshun West Station, then transfer to a direct bus to the scenic area. Alternatively, take the airport bus from Guiyang Longdongbao Airport to Anshun and then to the scenic area.
Recommended Tours
• Route: We recommend the Grand Waterfall-Doupo Pond-Tianxing Bridge route. First, take the escalator up to the Grand Waterfall, then walk down to Doupotang, and finally visit Tianxing Bridge. The entire trip takes approximately 5-6 hours.
• Best Time: The waterfall is at its most spectacular during the high water season from July to October. Late August to mid-September is a better time to visit, as it's off-peak.
