Zhuji is a pleasant small city in Zhejiang Province. Its famous Wuxie Waterfall, with its refreshing waterfalls and lush forest surroundings, is a great summer escape. Transportation is generally convenient, with both high-speed rail and train stations close by. Take bus No. 57 from Zhuji Station directly to the South Gate (5 yuan fare). The last bus departs around 5:00 PM, so it's recommended to leave early and return late to avoid delays.
Driving: From Hangzhou/Shanghai, the journey takes approximately 1.5-3 hours. Navigate to "Wuxie National Forest Park." Parking is 10-20 yuan per day.
Admission: Adults 70 yuan (half-price for students), including round-trip ferry tickets. Hangzhou/Shaoxing residents are exempt from admission with ID (a 20 yuan ferry ticket is required). Electric carts are 5 yuan one-way, and you can take them to reduce walking distance.
The Fifth Waterfall (20-30 meters drop) is shrouded in mist, creating an instant cool breeze from the observation deck. The average summer temperature is only around 25°C, 5-8°C lower than in the city. A recommended upstream tour route: Climb from the most spectacular Fifth Falls to the First Falls. The stone steps along the way are slippery, so wear non-slip shoes. After rain, the water level is even higher, so please exercise caution.
Outside the scenic area, recommended farmhouses offer local chicken stew and Wuxie creek fish. In the city, try Xishi tofu and Ciwu noodles.
