With over 2,500 years of history, it is considered one of the jewels of the Adriatic coast. 🗺️ What to See Fortress Walls and Citadel The 450-meter-long walls were built by the Venetians in the 15th century to protect against Turkish raids. The origin of the name is associated with the ancient Greek word "bous" (ox)—according to legend, the city was founded by Cadmus, exiled from Thebes, who arrived on the shore on a team of oxen. 🎭 Atmosphere and Life The Old Town is not a museum, but a living space. The narrow cobbled streets are lined with shops, galleries, cafes, and restaurants, while the upper floors are home to local residents or apartments for rent to tourists.
