    Storm flooding impacts routes between Exeter St Davids and Okehampton / Barnstaple

    Period:Monday, February 9, 2026 to Monday, February 16, 2026

    Related Information:Recent adverse weather as a result of Storm Chandra has caused flooding between Exeter St Davids and Barnstaple / Okehampton. This has closed all lines running between these stations. This means that trains are unable to operate, and have been cancelled. Disruption is expected to continue until Monday 16 February. Customer advice: The flood water still has not yet receded between Exeter St Davids and Okehampton / Barnstaple, and much of the surrounding area is under water. A limited return coach service is in operation between Exeter St Davids and Barnstaple, and also between Exeter St Davids and Okehampton. This service will be a full sized coach with limited seating. Roadworks on the A377 in the Eggesford area today may cause rail replacement services to be delayed. Please check online journey planners for the timings of the the rail replacement services. Ticket acceptance: To further assist you with your journey, your ticket can be used at no extra cost on the following Stagecoach bus routes: 5 between Exeter Central (New North Road), Newton St Cyres (Belluno) and Crediton (Station Cross). 5A Exeter (bus station), Newton St Cyres (Belluno), Crediton, Copplestone, Okehampton. 5B between Exeter (bus station), Newton St Cyres (Belluno), Crediton, Copplestone, Morchard Road and Barnstaple. 5C between Exeter (bus station), Newton St Cyres (Belluno), Crediton, Copplestone, Morchard Road and Lapford. 66 Exeter (bus station), Exeter St Davids station, St Thomas railway station, Pathfinder Village, Tedburn St Mary Garage, Cheriton Cross, Good Knight Inn, Whiddon Down Post Inn, Sticklepath Devonshire Inn, Okehampton Fore Street Arcade, Okehampton railway station.     Track flooding and bridge damage disrupts routes between Liskeard and Looe

    Related Information:The line between Liskeard and Looe remains closed following a period of recent heavy rain which flooded the track. The heavy rainfall, combined with high tides, have resulted in the water levels at several bridges along the line being above the level which allows for trains to run safely. Investigations took place once the water levels receded, and the results of the investigations have confirmed some damage that will require repair work. This will need to be carried out before the line can be reopened and trains are able to run again. No trains will operate between Liskeard and Looe. Rail replacement transport will run as stated below. Currently, trains are not expected to run on this route until at least start of service on Saturday 7 March. Customer advice: Replacement minibuses will operate at train departure times from Liskeard and Looe. The designated stops for the replacement road transport are as follows: Liskeard - at the front of the station. Sandplace - bus stops by the station entrance. Looe - at the front of the station. If you are travelling to / from St Keyne Wishing Well Halt or Causeland please call Great Western Railway customer services on 0345 700 0125, or use the station help point for taxis to be arranged.

    Landslip impacts routes between Wakefield Kirkgate and Sheffield

    Related Information:A landslip in the Darton area means the line is blocked. Trains running between Wakefield Kirkgate and Barnsley will be cancelled or revised. Buses are running between Wakefield Westgate and Meadowhall calling at Wakefield Kirkgate, Darton and Barnsley to help you complete your journey. Disruption is expected until 04:00 on Saturday 14 February. What's happened? Services between Wakefield Kirkgate and Barnsley are currently being disrupted due to a landslip. Network Rail are on site carrying out repair work. How does this affect my journey? Trains are unable to run between Wakefield Kirkgate and Barnsley in both directions. Services on the following routes will be affected by this disruption: Stopping services from Leeds to Sheffield via Barnsley - these services will start from Barnsley for stations to Sheffield. Stopping services from Sheffield to Leeds via Barnsley - these services will terminate at Barnsley. Between Leeds and Nottingham - these services will operate between Sheffield and Nottingham. Between Leeds and Lincoln Central - services will be amended to run between Sheffield and Lincoln Central. Train services running between Leeds and Sheffield via Moorthorpe will be unchanged. Fast services between Leeds and Sheffield via Moorthorpe will call additionally at Meadowhall. What should I do? You can travel on the following train operators and routes at no extra cost: TransPennine Express services between Normanton and Wakefield Kirkgate. East Midlands Railway services between Sheffield - Nottingham. Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends. Road transport: Road transport has been confirmed to run as follows: Wakefield Westgate to Meadowhall calling at Wakefield Kirkgate, Darton and Barnsley - departing at 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00, 17:00, 18:00, 19:00, 20:00, 21:00, 22:00. Meadowhall to Wakefield Westgate calling at Barnsley, Darton and Wakefield Kirkgate - departing at 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00, 17:00, 18:00, 19:00, 20:00 ,21:00, 22:00. Leeds to Sheffield via Barnsley - departing Leeds at 23:10 and calling at Woodlesford, Castleford, Normanton, Wakefield Kirkgate and Darton. This bus will then do request stops between Barnsley and Sheffield. Barnsley to Leeds - departing Barnsley at 23:15 and calling at Darton, Wakefield Kirkgate, Normanton, Castleford, Woodlesford and Leeds. Please check station information posters for the location of the bus pick up points and be advised that bicycles, e-bikes and dogs (except for service dogs) are not permitted on replacement road transport.     Increased train repairs reduce services between Newport and Ebbw Vale Town

    Related Information:More trains than usual needing repairs at the same time means fewer trains are able to run between Newport and Ebbw Vale Town. As a result, a reduced train service will operate on the route until the end of the day. Services between Cardiff Central and Ebbw Vale Town will operate as normal in either direction and remain unaffected by this problem. Customer advice: Customers at Newport wishing to travel to stations between Pye Corner and Ebbw Vale Town are advised to travel to Cardiff Central on Transport For Wales services and change onto connecting services towards Ebbw Vale Town. Customers at stations between Ebbw Vale Town and Pye Corner wishing to travel to Newport are advised to travel to Cardiff Central and change onto connecting Transport For Wales services towards Newport.     Overhead wires damage causes major disruption between London Paddington and Heathrow Airport / Reading

    Related Information:There has been damage to the overhead electric wires between London Paddington and Heathrow Airport / Reading, which is causing disruption to journeys between these stations. As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 50 minutes or revised. This is expected to continue until the end of the day. Advice for Elizabeth line customers: It has been reported that the overhead wires that power trains have been damaged. Specialist engineers have been arranged to attend the location of the fault and Elizabeth line are waiting for an update on how long it will take to fix the problem. If a wide area has been affected, this may be a considerable amount of time. For safety reasons, trains may not be able to run through the affected area as the overhead power is switched off. Due to the high risk nature of the repair work, it may take some time whilst the fault is dealt with and some services may be diverted around the issue using an alternative line. We will provide you with regular updates and inform you when the line has reopened. Please allow for short notice alterations and platform changes and listen to Elizabeth line station announcements or ask a member of staff for further information. Acton Main Line, West Ealing, Ealing Broadway, Southall and Hanwell will not be served in the Eastbound direction. To assist you with your journey, you can use your ticket on the following services, at no extra cost: Great Western Railway services between London Paddington and Reading (please note, these services are also affected by this incident). London Underground via any reasonable route. South Western Railway between London Waterloo and Reading. London Buses via any reasonable route. Service alterations: 2 trains an hour will run between Abbey Wood and Reading, calling additionally at Iver. 2 trains an hour will run between Abbey Wood and Heathrow Terminal 4 / 5. Services between Shenfield and Heathrow Airport will only run between Shenfield and London Liverpool Street / London Paddington. Services between Abbey Wood and Maidenhead will be cancelled (you should instead use services between Abbey Wood and Reading, which call at Maidenhead). Advice for Great Western Railway customers: To assist you with your journey, you can use your ticket on the following services, at no extra cost: Elizabeth line between London Paddington and Reading (please note, these services are also affected by this incident). South Western Railway between London Waterloo and Reading, and between Reading and Basingstoke. Chiltern Railway between Oxford and London Marylebone. London Underground via any reasonable route. To reduce congestion in the area, Great Western Railway are having to reduce their train service. Some services that normally run between London Paddington and Reading will be revised to either start their journey at Reading, or may terminate at Reading. If your train is cancelled or starting from Reading, you may travel on either of the two services before, or two services after, your original train. If these are peak services or less flexible, you can still travel with your original ticket, at no extra cost. If your train is being terminated at Reading, you can use your ticket, at no additional cost on the next available service to London Paddington. Please consider postponing your journey until service returns to normal.
