Bruges is a quaint city full of medieval architecture, canals, and lots of interesting sites to explore. A popular tourist destination, wandering the streets of Bruges can feel like you’re walking through a fairy tale. When you’re visiting Belgium, it’s worth taking a day trip by train to Bruges if you are visiting surrounding areas. The train station in Bruges is located just southeast of the city centre. You can reach the station easily in about 20min or less on foot. The same trip will take 5min if you travel by bus. Walking is the easiest way to get around Bruges since the city is so small. You might prefer to rent a bike to travel around the city. Driving a car around Bruges isn’t recommended since the streets are so narrow. Taxis are available but tend to be expensive and aren’t usually necessary unless you’re hauling heavy luggage
